Precautions

On safety
• The rating plate indicating operating voltage, power
consumption, etc. is located at the rear.
• Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet,
unplug the unit and have it checked by qualified
personnel before operating it further.
• Unplug the unit from the wall outlet if it is not to be
used for several days or more.
• To disconnect the AC power cord, pull it out by the
plug. Never pull the cord itself.
On installation
• Do not install the unit in a location near heat sources
such as radiators or air ducts, or in a place subject to
direct sunlight, excessive dust or humidity, mechanical
vibration or shock.
• If the unit is brought directly from a cold to a warm
location, moisture may condense inside the unit and
cause damage to the unit. When you first install the
unit, or when you move it from a cold to a warm
location, wait for a while before operating the unit.
On use
• Do not press on the glass board or place a heavy object
(more than 1 kg or 2.2 lb) on the glass board.
• If you open the top cover and release it, the cover will
fall by itself. Be careful not to catch your hand
between the cover and the glass board.
• Do not subject the unit to vibration during scanning.
On cleaning
To keep the unit looking brand-new, periodically clean it
with a mild detergent solution. Never use strong
solvents, such as thinner or benzine, or abrasive
cleansers since these will damage the cabinet. As a safety
precaution, unplug the unit before cleaning it.
On repacking
Do not throw away the carton and packing materials.
They make an ideal container in which to transport the
unit.
When shipping the unit to another location, repack it as
illustrated on the carton.

Troubleshooting

If you run into any problems using the scanner, use the
following check list.
Should any problem persist after you have made the
checks below, consult your nearest Sony dealer.
The POWER indicator does not light when you
press the POWER switch.
m Connect the AC power cord securely to an AC
outlet.
The scanner cannot operate with the Picture MD
photo editor.
m Make sure you have correctly connected the
scanner to the Picture MD photo editor.
The scanned picture does not appear on the
monitor screen.
m Make sure the photo is set on the scanner correctly
and scan it again.
