Maintaining the air filter

A dirty air filter can restrict air flow into the carburettor. In order to maintain good
operation, the air filter must be maintained periodically. If the lawn scarifier is used in
extremely dusty environments, the air filter must be maintained more frequently than
described in the maintenance schedule.
Warning:
Never clean the air filter with petrol or cleaning agents with a low flash point, as this
could cause an explosion.
Note:
Never run the machine without an air filter, as air contaminated with dirt and dust will
cause the machine to wear more quickly.
1. Remove the cover of the air filter and take out the filter element.
2. Wash the paper filter with regular washing-up liquid and warm water (alternatively a
non-flammable cleaning solution or solution with a high flash point).
3. Clean the cover and inside with a wet cloth. Make sure there is no dust in the
carburettor.
4. Insert the filter element again and replace the cover.
