5. Setting up / operation
When switched on and correctly connected, the MA
17/1 is either set to the last switching state before
power was cut off (if equiped with a last value
memory) or to rest mode (if equiped
without last value memory)
Subsequently the specific parameters of the machi-
ne need to be programmed. Normally programming
is only carried out once, ie. initial setting before
the first use.
6. Operation / programming
MA17/1, an incremental three-position control, is
used together with two incremental shaft encoders
thus forming an electronic measuring/display sy-
stem.
Three-position control MA17/1 calculates the dif-
ference between counter 1 and counter 2 (direc-
tion dependent increments counted by encoder 1
and encoder 2) and compares the result with the
limit values. If the counted value exceeds the
programmed upper limit value, relay oGrw pulls up
and the corresponding
counted value is lower than the lower limit value,
relay uGrw pulls up, the corresponding LED glows.
If the counted value is within the two limit values
both relays are inactive, the green LED is glowing.
For programming, remove front frame and front
cover of MA17/1 to get access to the DIP-switches.
Programming of DIP-switches 1 and 2 (A and B) is
shown in the table below. For storing the program-
med parameters either
bridge (C) or switch supply voltage off and then on
again.
