Inserting batteries
1. Remove the cover on the battery
compartment from the bottom of
the housing in the direction of the
arrow.
2. Insert the batteries or storage bat-
teries. Only 1.5 Volt round cell type
batteries (size LR6-AA) or 1.2 Volt rechargeable
batteries of the same size can be used. When in-
serting the batteries, please check that the polarity
("+" and "–" labelling) matches the markings on the
battery compartment.
3. Slide the cover to close.
After you have installed new batteries, an internal
code will appear for a short time. This code has no
importance for you the operator.
Caution: Only batteries which are marked as suitable
can be recharged. Never attempt to recharge non-
rechargeable batteries!

Batteries do not belong in the trash!
• Every user of batteries in the EC is legally obligated
to dispose of these batteries at a collection site
in his/her community or at the dealer selling the
batteries. The batteries are then properly disposed
of so as not to damage the environment.
• Batteries containing harmful materials are identi-
fied by this symbol and by chemical symbols
(Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead).
