The back pedal brake is intended to absorb the main brake load
and is activated by pushing back on the crank with the foot. The
more forcefully the crank is pushed back, the greater the braking
action.
The front brake (hand brake via brake lever) makes the bike saf-
er to ride. The braking action is applied to the front wheel. The
more the brake lever is pulled toward the grip, the greater the
braking action.
Be sure not to adjust the front brake too tight. If the front brake
is adjusted too tight will cause the bike to flip if the brake lever is
pulled abruptly, resulting in serious injuries.
Remember the stopping distance is greater on wet roads. Re-
duce your speed accordingly.
Remember the potential for slipping is high in wet conditions.
If you wish to use the bike on public roads, observe the national
laws on proper bike equipment and riding bikes on public roads.

Always be sure the handlebar cannot be turned separate from
the front wheel.
Wear and tear require regular maintenance and repair. If a part
is damaged, only use spare parts specified and approved for this
product. This particularly applies to spare parts essential to the
safety of the product. Please contact our Customer Service De-
partment.
If the product or individual components are bent, discontinue
use and immediately replace the parts with genuine spare parts.
Only use environmentally friendly, never aggressive cleaners.
Protect the product from road salt and do not store in moist ar-
eas (e.g. garage).
All maintenance requires technical know-how. If necessary, con-
sult a retailer for maintenance.
Routinely check the tyre pressure (the required pressure is indi-
cated on the tyre walls).
Routinely check and adjust the chain tension as necessary.
When replacing the brake pads for the front rim, be sure to
match it to the rim correctly (suitable for aluminium rims) so as
not to jeopardise the braking action.
When caring for your bike, be sure the rim band (where the
brake shoes are seated) are free from grease. This ensures the
full braking force is applied.
You can use conventional care products on painted and chrome
parts.
All other parts can be cleaned with mild soapy water and then
sprayed with e.g. silicone spray and polished. Rub the spokes,
particularly the spoke nipples with grease.
Routinely grease the chain and use chain cleaner for sand de-
posit or a very dirty chain.
The hubs, steering bearings and the bottom bracket should ide-
ally be professionally greased every 1-2 seasons. This requires
some speciality tools.
