Black Cube SE II

Expert notes

EN
The Black Cube SE II can be adapted to virtually all systems avail-
able on the market. With the exception of the DIP switches, the
adjustment mechanisms are located inside the device and should
only be changed by experts. An Allen key for opening the enclo-
sure and jumpers for bridging the output capacitors are supplied
with the device.

The MKP output capacitors are bridged with these jumpers so they are no longer
in the signal path. These jumpers are not activated at delivery.
ATTENTION!
When output capacitors are bridged, there may be DC voltage on
the outputs. Before activating these jumpers, it is therefore neces-
sary to ensure that the downstream input stage has a DC voltage
input filter since DC voltage can damage the speakers. In case of
doubt, have your system checked by the dealer first.
2 | DIP switch C on the bottom side of the device
With switch no. 1 you can set the bass cut filter behind the output stage to 27 Hz.
Switch no. 2 sets the filter to 15 Hz.
An attenuation of the low-frequency range may be useful to protect your
loudspeakers against excessive transients, particularly from warped records. If the
1
speakers are placed close to a wall, a low-frequency adjustment can enhance the
2
sound.
The Black Cube SE II offers a total of 16 different filter settings which you can
select by ear. More details on the different setting options can be found in the
annex on page 138 ff.

3 | DIP switch B on the bottom side of the device
Switch no. 1 changes the gain by +10 dB and is active on delivery.
Using switches no. 2 and 3 you can set the bass cut before the output stage to 23,
30 or 47 Hz. More details on the different filter settings can be found in the annex
4
on page 138 ff.
