Drain Fuel System

WARNING
Gasoline is a toxic substance.
Dispose of gasoline properly.
Contact your local authorities for approved disposal
methods.
If you plan to store the hedge trimmer for more than 30 days,
completely drain the fuel to prevent gum deposits forming on
essential carburetor parts, fuel filter, and fuel tank.
If the engine malfunctions, carefully examine the symptoms and the operating conditions, and use the table below as a guide to
troubleshooting.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

Probable cause
No fuel in fuel tank
Blocked fuel filter or tube
Blocked air vent in tank cap
Faulty carburetor
Over-rich fuel/air mixture
Clogged air cleaner
Faulty carburetor
Incorrect grade/type of fuel
Water in fuel
Faulty spark plug
Faulty ignition coil
Engine switch left in "O" (STOP) position.
Faulty piston, cylinder and piston ring

Fill fuel tank
Clean

Turn lift up lever to "Running" position.
Pull recoil starter grip with spark plug
removed to discharge excess fuel.
Clean spark plug.
Clean

Change fuel
Replace spark plug

Turn engine switch to "l" (START) position.

Tighten properly
Clean

Select a better location

Clean the engine and the
cutter blades.
●
Remove all the fuel from the
fuel tank and run the engine at
idling to use up the fuel in the
carburetor.
●
Remove the spark plug, pour
in 0.5 mL of new 2-stroke
engine oil through the plug
hole, pull the recoil starter grip
several times, and reinstall the
spark plug.
●
Slowly pull the recoil starter
grip until resistance is felt.
●
Store the hedge trimmer in a
clean and dry place.
