Operation
Connection to a power pack
The flash head cable 7 is plugged into the flash socket of
7
the HENSEL power pack. Then the generator will be
connected to the mains outlet using its power cable
(Before connecting to the mains outlet please read the
instruction manual of the generator carefully).
The maximum capacity of the connected ring flash must
be noted. If the ring flash is connected to the HENSEL
power pack (except Porty), the admissible capability of
the ring flash will be controlled by a special plug-code.
When the maximum power output of the generator
exceeds the capability of the connected ring flash, the
code will block flash release or reduce flash power of the
generator. Therefore, for the ring flash RF 3000-XS only
original Hensel flash head extension cables with the plug-
code must be used. The cables can be ordered with
precise specification from Hensel-Visit. For the ring flash
RF 3000P/PM-XS a special extension cable with round
socket is available for connection to Porty power pack.
The Ring flash 3000P/PM-XS is only approved for
operation with Porty power pack (Porty 1200 B, Porty
Premium 1200 AS/RC or Porty Premium Plus power
pack).
Recommended power packs for RF 3000-XS are:
Tria 1500 S and Tria 3000 S/AS power packs,
VELA 1500 S/AS power packs
Third party manufacturers
Even though similar lamp sockets and plugs are used by
other manufacturers as well, the ring flash must not be
connected to generators from these manufacturers. This
requires in every case an adapter cord. Ask your Hensel
agent about suitable adapter cords for your brand.
