Starting up

Safety hints for operation with ring flashes
To avoid damage to the flash tube, mount lightformers
(softboxes, etc.) before use and turning on the unit. Do
not move ring flashes around while they are operating.
Switch the power pack off and disconnect the ring flash
for each change of lightformers or to move the ring flash
to another location.
Caution:
Ring flashes and lightformers heat up during longer
operation. To avoid injuries, handle with isolating cloth or
wait until parts have cooled down.
Acclimatizing
When moving the ring flash from one climatic zone to the
next, the appliance should stand in the room, in which it
will be operated, for some time before starting it up. This
prevents internal
condensing water.

Positioning

The ring flash can be mounted to a stand by using one of
the two threads 4 and 5, respectively (1/4" and 1/8",
respectively). The camera lens is to be led through the
opening of the ring flash and then correctly positioned and
carefully fixed by using screw 3. If a 3/8" screw is
required, the screw can be exchanged. For doing this,
unscrew screw 2 on both sides, remove the rail and insert
the required screw. Then re-mount the rail by screwing
both screws 2. The ring flash unit can be vertically and
horizontally shifted within the slots for precise positioning
of the camera by using screws 1 and 2, respectively. The
ring flash unit can also be operated without a stand by
holding the hand grip 6.
