General safety regulations

Generators store electrical energy in capacitors by
applying high voltages. In case of connecting the ring flash
to a recommended power pack, these high voltages will
be also applied to the flash tube. These form a source of
danger, which must be carefully excluded. Besides
general rules on handling electrical appliances, the
following safety measures must be observed. Therefore
read and comply the safety hints (also see paragraph
Starting up) within the user manual before turning the
appliance on.
The present ring flash is meant for studio use of pro-
fessional photographers. Its task is to provide flashlight.
The appliance may not be used for any other purpose
than the one described above, especially not for other
electrical appliances.
Flash tubes generate high pressure during operation
and can therefore burst. For this reason the flash
tube is covered with a security glass. In case of a
damaged flash tube or a broken security glass, the
ring flash must be unplugged immediately from the
generator and sent to an authorized customer
service.
 Contact with the capacitors voltage is perilous and
therefore opening of the case of the ring flash and
repairs must only be made by authorized customer
service.
 Flash tubes must only be exchanged by authorized
trained personnel. Exchange of the flash tube must
only be performed with the ring flash disconnected
from the generator.
 Only lamp connectors with immaculate contacts must
be used, burned or/and corroded contacts may cause
burstings in the area of connectors and lamp sockets.
