The subsurface must be rigid (not vibrating or springy), loadbearing,
dry and free from dirt. Relevant installation standards for subsurfa-
ces to be tiled are to be observed with respect to the degree of
rigidity. Cut out the section of floor necessary to install the drainage
element.
B.
Install a load bearing subconstruction for the drain body 82 mm be-
low the top of the floor joist (see sectional diagram), fixed securely
between the joists on which to firmly bed the drain body.
C.
Position and connect the drain body to the drain pipe (DN 50). The
top edge of the drain body flange should be level with the adjacent
wooden flooring or top of the joists as desired.Infill below and
around the drain body with a semi dry mortar mix.
D.
Replace the floor as required. Prime the wooden surface if neces-
sary before laying the element. Apply tile adhesive to the Safedrain
plus and lay on the wooden subsurface. Compact around and under
the drain to support and secure it.
E.
Level the rest of the wooden floor with 50 mm building boards (or
thinner as required). Bond and screw the building boards to the
subsurface in accordance with the application guidelines.
F.
Apply sealing tape together with a mineral two-part waterproof
liquid membrane to the two 50 mm wide raised edges of the Safe-
drain plus as well as to the joints of the Safedrain plus and the wall
/ floor to create a secure seal.
