insulation strips. Soft impact sound deadening material made of
expanded polystyrene is not suitable for use with Safedrain plus.
Position the lower part of the drain with the appropriate length of
connecting pipe into the recess made exactly to size in the floor and
connect it to the existing DN 50 drainage pipe. For UK, DN 50 pipe
is equivalent to 2"/ 50 mm ABS BS5255 (solvent welded to drain).
For a floor level installation the necessary difference between the
drain flange and the height of surrounding
screed must be 55 mm.
Screw on the sealing collar with 4 screws. The screws have to be

stoutly tightened.
C.
Apply cement based adhesive (4 to 5 mm layer) to the underside
of the Safedrain plus unit. Bond it to the block substructure flush
to the adjacent screed floor. Important: Use only cement based
adhesive!
Apply a continuous film of adhesive sealant on the vertical and ho-

rizontal surface of the foam. Push in the drain template and remove
the emerging adhesive. The edge enables a precise connection to
the screed. If necessary, cut off the overlap.
E.
Apply sealing tape and a mineral two-part waterproof liquid mem-
brane to the two 50 mm wide raised edges of the Safedrain plus
as well as to the joints of the Safedrain plus and the wall / floor to
create a secure seal.
F.
Position the two drain templates in the metal drain gulley to align
tiles and protect the gulley channel when tiling.
G.
After completion of the tiling, insert the trap cup and siphon. Screw
on the hexagon setting nuts for the grid cover plate. Adjust the
hexagon screw supports as required for the grid cover plate.
