With large temperature changes, the objective may show – when pulling out the
spotting scope – some condensation on the inside surface. Normally, such a con-
densation should disappear after a short while. If not, it is recommendable to pull
out/push in the spotting scope several times at normal room temperature. This will
make the condensation to disappear. If not, please consider this to be a hint for a
necessary cleaning service as aforementioned.
We have designed all elements and surfaces to require little care. To ensure the
long-lasting optical brilliance of your spotting scope, you should keep the glass
surfaces free of dirt, oil and grease. When cleaning the lenses, first remove larger
particles with an optical lens brush. For the subsequent thorough cleaning we
recommend breathing onto the lens surface to form a coat of condensation and then
cleaning it with a soft, moist cloth.
The housing is best cleansed with a soft, moist cloth (don't use the lens-cleaning
cloth). Please do not oil the extension tubes.
3.3 TREATMENT WHEN WET
If the spotting scope becomes wet, dry the extendable tube with a cloth. Leave to dry
in its extended position and with the caps on the stay-on case open.
If necessary, the entire stay-on case should be removed to help the spotting scope
dry out.
