Putting into Operation

Place the unit in the horizontal or vertical position on a
stable base, on a tripod 27 or mount in a wall holder
24 (accessory).

Do not look into the laser beam.
s
Do not point the laser beam at persons or animals.

To switch on, press the on/off button 17. The indica-
tors 14, 15 and 16 light for 3 seconds. The unit begins
immediately with automatic levelling (see Automatic
Levelling). During the levelling, the laser beam and the
indicator for automatic levelling "auto" 15 blinks once
per second.
With the operating mode buttons 20, 21, 18 or 19, the
operating mode can already be selected during the
levelling (see Using the Operating Modes). In this case,
the unit runs for 3 seconds during the levelling in the
selected operating mode to confirm the entry. After the
conclusion of the levelling, the function in the selected
operating mode is continued.
The unit is levelled when the laser beam and the
"auto" indicator 15 light continuously.
To switch off, press the on/off button 17 again.
When the maximum allowed operating temperature of
50 °C is exceeded, the laser beam automatically
switches off in order to protect the laser diode. After
cooling, the unit is again ready for operation and can
be switched on again.

Operating Modes

Overview
Point operation
In this operating mode, the highest
visibility of the laser beam is achieved.
It serves, for example, for the simple
transferring of heights or for checking
alignments.
Line Operation – Standard Line
In this operating mode, the laser
beam moves in a limited working ar-
ea. In this manner, the visibility of the
laser beam is increased as compared
to the rotation mode. Four aperture
angles with four rotational speeds
can be selected.

Line Operation – Programmable
Line
As opposed to the standard lines, the
start and end points of the line can be
set to any position.
Rotation operation
The rotation mode is especially rec-
ommended when a receiver 28 is
used (accessory). Four rotational
speeds can be selected.
All operating modes are possible in the horizontal and
vertical position of the unit.
In the horizontal position of the unit, the laser point
or the laser line can be rotated by 360° in steps by
pressing the right 19 or the left 18 direction buttons.
In the vertical position of the unit, the laser point, the
laser line or the rotating plane for simple or parallel
alignment can be finely adjusted with the right 19 or
the left 18 direction buttons. However, this is possible
only within a limited range (±8 % of the respective dis-
tance to the right or left).
Longer pressing of the right 19 or the left 18 direction
buttons accelerates the movement of the laser point or
laser line.
Using the Operating Modes
When pressing the operating buttons, the levelling
of the unit can be disturbed so that the rotation
temporarily stops. With the use of the remote con-
trol 29 (accessory), this effect can be avoided.
Point operation
After switching on, the unit is in the point mode of op-
eration.
The laser beam can be aimed at the desired location
by turning the rotation head 13 by hand and/or by
pressing the right 19 or the left 18 direction buttons.
Line Operation – Standard Line
To change to line operation, press the button 20. The
unit starts with an aperture angle of 4° and the lowest
rotational speed. Repeated pressing of the button 20
increases the aperture angle to 45° and then 90° to fi-
nally 180° and at the same time increases the rotation-
al speed with each step. If the button 20 is pressed
again, the unit switches back to point operation.
The aperture angle of the laser line can be increased
or decreased with the aid of the remote control 29 (ac-
cessory).
As a result of inertia, the laser can swing some-
what beyond the end points of the line.
