Start-up of the device/introduction

• Select a suitable location for the device, such as a dry,
flat, non-slip surface on which it is easy to operate the
machine.
• Ensure that the device is sufficiently ventilated!
• Remove the protective film from the display if it is still
present.
Power Supply
• Ensure that the voltage is the same as that indicated on
the model identification plate.
• Connect the power cable supplied (see battery compart-
ment if necessary) to a properly installed safety power
socket and the mains connector AC on the back of the
machine.
NOTE: In CD/USB/AUX IN mode
The device integrates an auto-off function for the purpose
of saving energy. When in stop mode, for example when
CD playback has been finished, the device turns off auto-
matically after 10 minutes. Proceed as follows to turn the
device on again:
1. Set the function switch (14) to "OFF" position first.
2. Then set the function switch back to the desired oper-
ating mode.
Inserting the Batteries (not supplied)
1. Open the lid of the battery compartment on the bottom.
2. Insert 6 batteries of type UM2/R14 1.5 V. Please ensure
that the polarity is correct (see the floor of the battery
compartment)!
3. Then close the battery lid.
NOTE:
When a mains cable is connected the batteries are auto-
matically switched off.
CAUTION:
• Batteries can leak battery acid. If the device is out of
use for a long period of time, remove the batteries.
• Different battery types or new and used batteries must
not be used together.
• Batteries are not to be disposed of together with
domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at the
relevant collection bin or at your dealer' s .
WARNING:
The batteries shall not be exposed to excessive heat such
as sunshine, fire or the like. Danger of explosion!
Transport Safety Device, CD Compartment
• Open the CD compartment (2) by pulling the lid upwards
by the tab (4).
• Before operating the machine for the first time, remove
the transport safety device from the CD player if it is still
in place.
Volume
You can adjust the desired volume with the VOLUME control
(13).
Turning the device off
The device turns off when you set the function switch (14) to
the "OFF" position. The POWER control lamp (5) turns off.
Then disconnect the mains plug.

Listening to the Radio

1. Set the function switch (14) to the "RADIO" position.
2. Completely extend the telescopic antenna. Change its
position to improve the reception.
3. Tune the desired station with the TUNING control (3).

Playing CDs/MP3

NOTE:
If an audio cable is connected to the AUX IN socket, the
device cannot be operated in CD/MP3 mode.
1. Set the function switch (14) to the "CD/USB/AUX IN"
position.
2. Open the CD compartment (2) by pulling the lid upwards
by the tab (4).
