WARNING
y Carefully read the entire user's manual before first use
and keep it with the product so that the user can become
acquainted with it. If you lend or sell the product to some-
body, include this user's manual with it. Prevent this user's
manual from being damaged.
1. Check the gasket rings around the thread for damage (e.g.
cut, pressed-out, hard, brittle, etc.). Replace faulty gasket
rings with original ones supplied by the manufacturer.
A faulty gasket ring will result in gas leakages. Do not use
a blow torch with a faulty gasket ring.
2. Check that the blow torch thread is not stripped or damaged,
and check that there are no mechanical particles in the area
of the thread which could block gas flow. Do not use a blow
torch with a damaged thread and arrange for its repair/
replacement. In the event of mechanical particles in the area
of the thread, gently remove them to prevent damage to the
gasket ring.
3. Screw the torch on to the gas cartridge - however, do not tighten
forcefully so as not to damage the thread and gasket ring. Check
for gas leaks using a foam-forming solution (procedure described
below). In the event of gas leaks, attempt to rectify this by further
tightening of the torch or by replacing the gasket ring for an
original from the manufacturer.
4. Open the gas by slightly turning the control knob in the
direction of the ON arrow.
5. Press the piezoelectric lighter button to ignite the gas.
6. Turn the control knob in the direction of the ON/OFF arrow to
adjust the size of the flame as required.

WARNING
y For perfect gasification of the gas liquid phase when the
torch is used with a lifted/tilted cartridge, allow the torch to
preheat for 1-2 minutes in the standing position.
TURNING OFF THE TORCH / EXTINGUISHING
THE FLAME
y The gas supply to the torch is turned off and the flame is
extinguished when the control knob is turned fully in the
direction of the OFF arrow.
y If you wish to replace the cartridge for a new one, thoroughly
close the gas supply, make sure that the flame is extinguished
and wait for the blow torch to cool down. Then screw off the
cartridge, check the gasket rings for damage and screw a new
cartridge on to the torch's thread.
•
WARNING
y Install and replace the cartridge in a well ventilated room,
ideally in an outdoor environment away from any sources of
ignition such as open fires, lighting burners, electric lighters
and out of reach of other persons.
III. Safety Instructions
y Prevent the blow torch from being used by persons that are
under the influence of substances affecting attention or
mentally unfit persons and children.
y Only use gas cartridges containing propane, butane or pro-
pane-butane mixtures as fuel for the blow torch. Never use
other gases as the blow torch could be damaged by a higher
flame temperature.
y Do not use the blow torch when it is not sealing, or when
damaged or not working correctly.

E X T O L P R E M I U M
y Prior to using the blow torch, check that no gas is leaking,
e.g. using a foam-forming solution (soapsuds). Do not
attempt to identify leaks using an open flame. Always per-
form the gas leak check in an outdoor environment.
y In the event that the blow torch is not sealing (gas odour),
immediately take it to an outdoor environment, to a location
without an open flame and with good ventilation, where this
leak can be identified and stopped.
y Do not use the blow torch in areas where flammable, explo-
sive or toxic materials are stored. The blow torch must be at
least 40 cm away from walls and ceilings.
y Do not touch the blow torch during work and for some time
afterwards as there is a danger of burns. For this reason wear
gloves when working with it as protection against burns.
y Never point the torch against yourself or other people or
animals when lighting or using it.
y Never use the torch for lighting liquid or gaseous flammable
substances (e.g. petrol, alcohol, etc.).
y Use the torch in well ventilated areas because the burning
process consumes a large amount of oxygen as well as to
prevent a potentially dangerous accumulation of unburned
fuel at appliances not equipped with a flame failure device.
y Do not replace the gas cartridge when the blow torch is hot.
y Protect the blow torch against soiling (e.g. by melted plastic).
y Do not modify the torch for other applications.
y Follow the safety instructions for handling the gas cartridge
provided on the cartridge. Do not expose the cartridge to
direct sunlight and direct heat sources (temperature < 50°C).
IV. Cleaning, maintenance,
repairs
y The blow torch does not require any special maintenance or
disassembly. If necessary, clean the cooled blow torch using
a damp cloth or soft brush.
Clean out a clogged nozzle using a needle.
V. Storage
The instructions provided below relate to the blow torch
mounted on the cartridge.
y When storing the blow torch, follow the safety instructions
provided on the cartridge and furthermore adhere to the
following instructions.
y Store the blow torch in well ventilated areas, where there are
no flammable or explosive substances present. Such areas
present an explosion or fire hazard.
11
E X T O L P R E M I U M
y Do not store the blow torch with the cartridge in places
subject to direct sunlight or in locations where temperatures
exceed 50 °C or where there is a danger of extreme tempe-
rature fluctuations or mechanical damage to the cartridge,
which could result in an explosion.
y Store the blow torch in a dry place.
VI. Warranty terms and
conditions
y On the basis of the buyer's request, the seller must inform
the buyer about their rights relating to faulty performance in
written form. The product is covered by a standard 24-month

pursuant to respective laws.
y For warranty repairs, please contact the vendor from whom
