8.3. Points to notice about rechargeable lead-acid battery
Lead-acid battery is maintenance free but you should never let it go totally empty
for more than two (2) days. If this happens, there will develop sulphite crystal on
the surface of lead sheets and the charge rate of the battery will be decreased.
There should never be short circuit between battery terminals. Short circuit
between battery terminals will cause dangerously high 750 A short-circuit
current !!
Lead acid battery should be fully charged before use and before storing. DO
NOT use any other device to load the battery than solar panel or 12 VDC
overcharge protected battery charger with 500 mAh maximum charging current.
Charging the battery may cause explosive gas, so the battery can not be
charged in closed room. The battery must be loaded in a place with
sufficient ventilation or outside and make sure that loading is taking place
far enough from sparks, fire or smoking!
The charge of the battery will decrease during storing. One year storing in room
temperature will cut the charge of the battery into 60%. Best temperature to store
the battery is few degrees above freezing point but never below -30 centigrade
since the battery will freeze. In the battery is notfully loaded, it might freeze before
-30 centigrade.
Warranty period for lead-acid battery is one (1) year. If the battery is carefully
used and maintenance, it should last 5 years, or even more.
Keep the battery away from the reach of the children. Never burst, break,
twist or burn the battery or the fence energizer. Take your responsibility of
recycling since rechargeable battery contains toxic material (lead) and
jellied, corrosive liquid (sulphuric acid). Take care of disposal of the battery.
Warranty conditions
This product carries a three (3) year manufacturer warranty for materials and
workmanship. The warranty also covers possible overload situations caused by
thunder. The warranty is valid for three (3) years from the date of purchase on the
receipt. The warranty for the 12 V lead gel rechargeable battery supplied with Olli
50S electric fence energizer is valid for one (1) year. To claim the warranty, the
customer should return the defect product to the Manufacturer, reseller or the
nearest Olli Service Partner at customer's own expense. The warranty claim must
be accompanied by the description of the fault, copy of the sales receipt and
customer's contact information. The manufacturer / Olli Service Partner will repair
or replace the defect product and return it as soon as possible.
The warranty does not cover any damages that are caused by incorrect or
careless use of the product, installation that does not correspond the provided
instructions and other damages which may arise due to causes beyond the
control of the manufacture. Farmcomp does not accept any responsibility for any
direct, indirect or consequential damages that are caused by the use of the
product or the fact that the product could not be used. The liability of Farmcomp is
limited to the price of the product in maximum.
