7. Leva dell'Aria
COSTIPAZIONE
I terreni che sono stati smossi, o i nuovi riempimenti, sottofondi e manti
bituminosi presentano piccoli vuoti o tasche d'aria, che, se non vengono
compattate, possono provocare alcuni problemi.
1. Con il passaggio del traffico sulla superficie di un'area non compattata,
il materiale si comprime. Ciò provoca il cedimento dello strato
superficiale, dovuto al riempimento dei vuoti da parte del materiale.
2. Una situazione analoga si ha con carichi statici su terreno non
compattato. Il carico (ad es. un edificio) affonda.
3. Il materiali che presentano dei vuoti sono più soggetti a infiltrazioni
d'acqua, che provocano erosione. La presenza di acqua può far sì
che il suolo si espanda in caso di gelate e si contragga nei periodi
secchi. L'espansione e la contrazione sono una delle principali cause
di danni alle fondamenta degli edifici e di norma comportano la
necessità di sottomurare la struttura.
La costipazione aumenta la densità del materiale e quindi anche la
propria capacità di carico. Riduce le bolle d'aria e quindi anche il rischio
di cedimento, nonché di espansione e contrazione dovuti all'infiltrazione
di acqua.

PRE START CHECKS
CAUTION! Your 'HULK' is shipped with NO
container of oil is supplied with the machine. You MUST add the correct
amount of 0.25ltr of this oil to the engine BEFORE first use, otherwise
the engine will be damaged and will not be covered by warranty.
Pre start-up inspection.
The following Pre start up inspection must be performed before the start
of each work session or after every four hours of use. Please refer to the
service section for detailed guidance. If any fault is discovered, the 'HULK'
must not be used until the fault is rectified.
1. Thoroughly inspect the 'HULK' for signs of damage. Make sure that
the belt guard is secure before using the machine.
2. Check hoses, filler openings, drain plugs and any other areas for
signs of leakage. Fix any leaks before operating.
3. Check the engine oil level and top up as necessary.
4. Check the engine fuel level and top up as necessary.
5. Check for fuel and oil leaks.
Stopping the engine
1. Reduce the engine speed to minimum.
2. Turn the engine ON / OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.
3. Turn the fuel off.
Starting the engine
1. Open the fuel tap.
2. If starting the engine from cold, move the choke lever to the CLOSED
position. To restart a warm engine leave the choke lever in the OPEN
position.
3. Turn the engine ON / OFF switch to the 'ON' position.
4. Taking a firm hold of the control handle with one hand, grasp the
recoil starter handle with the other. Pull the recoil starter until engine
resistance is felt, then let starter return.
5. Pull the starter handle briskly.
6. Repeat until the engine fires. NOTE: Once the engine fires it will run
on it's preset engine RPM.
7. IF the choke lever was moved to the CLOSED position to the start the
engine, gradually move it to the OPEN position as the engine warms
up.
8. If the engine fails to fire after several attempts, follow the trouble-
shooting guide.
Setting the engine speed
To increase the speed, move the throttle lever towards the LEFT.
To decrease the speed, move the throttle lever towards the RIGHT.
Idle speed
The engine Idle speed is factory preset and should not need adjustment.
