Electronic control
The electronic pendulum jig saw is equipped with a dis-
connectable electronic control system. You can conti-
nuously adapt the number of strokes to respective material
requirements within a range of 250–2700 strokes per
minute. The setting wheel on the handle is used for regu-
lating the number of strokes. This can be done at any time
while the machine is in operation. To switch off the electro-
nic control, the setting wheel should be turned to posi-
tion 6. The jig saw then operates with the maximum
no-load number of strokes of 3750/min.
Important!
The motor can become overheated as a result of
sustained heavy loading and low speeds.
Speed range
Pos. 1
approx. 250 strokes/min
Pos. 2
approx. 450 strokes/min
Pos. 3
approx. 1100 strokes/min
Pos. 4
approx. 1700 strokes/min
Pos. 5
approx. 2700 strokes/min
Pos. 6
max. no. of strokes
approx. 3750 strokes/min
Recommended speeds
Low speed when sawing glass, ceramics and metal.
Medium-range speed when sawing plastic, pressed ma-
terial and plywood.
High speed when working hard-textured wood, soft-textu-
red wood and chipboard.
The optimal speed setting should be determined by trials
at the beginning of the sawing job, since several factors,
such as material, material thickness or state of the saw
blade, may influence the working results.
Pendulum-stroke setting
The change-over between settings 0 to 3 is effected by
means of the pendulum-stroke adjusting knob (turning
knob). The mark indicates the selected pendulum stroke
setting.
Recommendations for setting the pendulum stroke
Pos. 0
for glass, ceramics, soft steel, non ferrous
heavy metal, aluminium and pressed materials
Pos. 1
for plastics
Pos. 2
for plywood
Pos. 3
for hard-textured wood, soft-textured wood
and chipboard
It should be noted that the values stated are standard
values which may vary according to thickness and hard-
ness of material and grain direction as well as the state of
the saw blade.
Parallel fence (optional accessory)
For perfect results with parallel cuts use the graduated paral-
lel fence. The parallel fence is inserted from the side through
the clamping plate into the slot in the base plate according to
the scale and is fixed with the wing bell.
Circular cutter (optional accessory)
A graduated circular cutter is available for round cuts
(assembly similar to parallel fence). The threaded pin of the
knob-type handle permits readjustment if increased down-
ward pressure is required in relation to the respective ma-
terial or if the tip of the threaded pin has been reground.
Make sure that the counternut is always well tightened.
7
Mounting of clamping device for parallel fence and cir-
cular cutter
– Place the countersunk screw (12) from below into the
bore with countersink and tighten with the hexagonal nut
(13) (spanner size 7 mm).
– Mount pressure spring (14) and clamping jaws (15) (the
clamp must be correctly positioned so that it is even
with the border of the base plate; see detail ‹x›) and
press pressure springs together with the clamping jaw.
– Screw on the fly nut (16) until the clamping jaw reaches
the recess of the base plate (see detail ‹y›).
8
The synthetic insert is placed from below into the saw ope-
ning of the base plate (snap lock). During sawing, the lig-
neous fibre structure is pressed against this insert, thus
preventing the ligneous fibres from being pulled out.
This method can only be applied when cutting with an
angle of 90°.
Replacing carbon brushes
Our service personnel will carry out this and all other servi-
cing work quickly and professionally.
Mains cable
Damaged mains cables must not be used. They are to be
replaced immediately.
Maintenance
All woodworking tools are contaminated by dust. Proper
care is therefore required. Always keep the openings re-
quired for cooling the motor free of dust and dirt. The
movable supporting roller for the saw blade should be
provided regularly with a drop of oil. As far as the rest of
the machine is concerned, the jig saw requires hardly any
service. All moving parts are adequately lubricated before
leaving the factory.
Noise/vibration information
Measured values correspond with EN 50144.

Operators require noise protection equipment.
The weighted acceleration is typically 8.2 m/s
Environmental Protection
Kress takes back worn-out machines for the purpose of re-
source-saving recycling. As a result of their modular con-
struction, Kress machines can be very easily dismantled
into their reusable materials.
Give your worn-out Kress machine to your dealer or send it
directly to Kress.
Subject to change without notice.
Dust suction
Insert the suction connection piece (10) into the saw bench
from the back. The jigsaw can now be connected to a
commercially available vacuum cleaner. To keep the cut
free of shavings, insert the flexible suction hose into the
opening of the suction connection piece.
Sliding block
To prevent the workpiece surface from being scratched,
attach the sliding block onto the saw bench from the back.
