other connections. Maintenance work at the USB Hub or repairs may only be perfor-
med by qualified personnel, which is familiar with the hazards involved and the rele-
vant regulations (VDE-0100, VDE-0683, VDE-0701).
Each time before you are using this product, check it for damages!
If you detect damages, you must NOT connect the product to the
mains voltage! Danger for your life!
If the power supply of the USB Hub is not connected to the mains supply, the USB
Hub runs in the self-powered mode. This means that USB devices requiring a power
input of more than 100mA will not work.
Operation is only permitted in dry indoor rooms.
Avoid unfavourable ambient conditions during transport or at the mounting location
such as:
- moisture and too high air humidity ,
- extreme cold and heat
- dust and combustible gases, vapours or solvents,
- strong vibrations,
- strong magnetic fields as existing in the vicinity of machines or speakers,
USB device can be plugged or unplugged during operation. Thus you don't need to
turn off your PC if you want to plug or unplug devices (other interfaces may by dama-
ged by this e.g., when you plug or unplug a PS/2 mouse during operation).
If, however, data transfer is being accomplished via the USB port, e.g. if a scanner
transmits data to the PC and you unplug the USB plug, the application program may
crash and also damage other data.
This also applies if you pull the mains cord of the power supply during a data trans-
fer on the USB port. The USB Hub does switch automatically between self-powered
mode and bus-powered mode, however, the short switch-over phase leads in most
cases to the breaking of scanning processes of an USB scanner or of a data transfer
to the USB hard disk, USB camera etc.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning
Check the technical safety of the product e.g., for damages of the cabinet or of the
power supply, in regular intervals of time.

La construction de l'appareil est conforme à la classe de protection 2. La source
d'alimentation utilisée doit être une prise secteur conforme (230 V / 50 Hz) du réseau
d'alimentation EDF.
Les appareils fonctionnant avec la tension du réseau doivent être maintenus hors de
la portée des enfants. Soyez ainsi très vigilants en présence d'enfants.
Dans les locaux professionnels, il faut observer les instructions pour la prévention
des accidents émises par les associations professionnelles exerçant dans le domai-
ne des installations électriques et de l'outillage industriel.
Dans les écoles, les centres de formation professionnelle, les ateliers amateur et bri-
colage, l'utilisation du produit doit être surveillée de manière responsable par du per-
sonnel qualifié.
Lors du raccordement, il faut prendre les mesures appropriées à la protection contre
l'électricité statique (par ex. un ruban de mise à la terre, support non-conducteur).
Maniez le produit soigneusement – des chocs, des coups et une chute même de fai-
ble niveau risquent de l'endommager.
