It is possible with USB-devices to put it out or on while operating. It is not necessary
to switch the PC off, when you want to put the device on or off.
But if data transmission happen, e.g. between a USB-scanner und your PC, do not
pull the plug, Your user software and other datas can go lost.
The same be worth for data transmission of USB-Port. The USB-Hub switches auto-
matically to Self- and Bus-Powered-Modus, but the short time which is following
from a break of a scann-process of a USB-scanner or a data transmission to USB-
hard disk or a USB-camera, may damage your PC.
7. Maintenance and Cleaning
Check the technical safety of the device from time to time e,g, if there were damages
on the case or an the cable.
If you think a safe operating with this product is no longer guaranteed, switch the
device off and take carre that no one else can swtich it on again. Pull the main line
plug out of the main voltage socket.
You can suppose that a safe operation is not longer possible when:
- the device shows visible damages,
- there is no function on the device and
- after a long storage under unfavourable conditions or
- after a strong transporting stress.
Before you clean or maintenance the device please pay attention to following
safety instructions:
There is no item inside the product which must be maintenanced from
the user.
While open the product or remove some parts of the item, charged
items can be released.

Si vous disposez déjà d'un Hub USB, ce Hub USB pourra bien entendu y être
également connecté.
b) Face avant
• Quatre ports USB (douille type A)
Branchez ici vos appareils USB.
• DEL Power
La DEL Power, vous indique si le Hub USB est activé.
En mode "Self-Powered", le Hub USB est alimenté en courant par le bloc d'alimen-
tation à enficher joint. A chacune des quatre douilles USB type A, l'appareil USB
connecté pourra consommer au max. un courant de 500 mA. Il pourra s'agir par ex.
de Webcams, scanner ou autres appareils.
En mode "Bus-Powered", le Hub USB est alimenté en courant par le port USB (par
ex. de votre PC ou d'un autre Hub Self-Powered, le bloc d'alimentation à enficher
joint est inutile.
Cependant, à chacun des quatre ports USB du Hub USB, seront uniquement à dis-
position respectivement au max. 100 mA.
Cela est suffisant pour des appareils USB Low-Power, comme par ex. un clavier, une
souris, un Modem ou autres appareils. Des appareils USB High-Power nécessitant
plus de 100 mA ne fonctionnent alors pas sur le Hub USB. Vous devrez alors utiliser
le bloc d'alimentation à enficher.
5. Branchement et Installation du logiciel
Afin d'obtenir un soutien USB parfait, vous devrez au moins utiliser Windows 98.
La dernière version de Windows 95 (sur le CD figure "... avec soutien USB")n'est nor-
malement pas en mesure de garantir le fonctionnement avec des composants USB.
Les appareils USB autorisent la connexion et la déconnexion pendant le fonctionne-
ment. Vous n'aurez donc pas à éteindre votre PC lorsque vous souhaitez connecter
ou déconnecter des appareils (sur d'autres interfaces cela pourra conduire à des
détériorations, par ex. lorsque vous connectez ou déconnectez une souris PS/2 pen-
dant le fonctionnement)
• Enfichez la large fiche plate USB (type A) dans un port USB de votre PC ou d'un
Hub USB déjà à disposition
