Tips & Notes
• Because of its functionnal principle, the video image that the converter delivers to its outputs,
only has a resolution of about 720*576 pixels. This is why higher resolutions of the graphics
card's VGA picture (e.g. 1024*768) are only displayed quite out of focus because the picture
has to be made smaller. This is why small print cannot be read properly on the television.
You should therefore use, for e.g. presentations, either a larger font size or a smaller VGA res-
olution (e.g. 800x600 instead of 1024x768).
• If the power supply is via an USB port, attention needs to be paid to the fact that the USB port
can supply a current of 500mA (so called „high-power USB port"). Use a USB port directly on
the motherboard (on the back of the PC) or a USB port of a USB hub with own power supply.
• Pay attention to the correct connection of the Y-VGA connecting cable. On each of the plugs
the respective labelling can be found.
• For notebooks the VGA output may have to be activated first. This is usually possible via a spe-
cial shortcut.
• For higher resolutions and refresh rates the VGA monitor image may get worse (shadows on
vertical lines or similar). If this is the case, reduce the resolution or the refresh rate (eg 800*600
in 75Hz instead of 1280*1024 in 60Hz).
