VGA-TV Converter „Grand Ultimate XP Pro"

Intended use
The product is used to convert the analogue VGA signal of e.g. a computer into a S-Video,
CVBS, RGB or YUV video signal. The converter is powered either via a PS/2 or via a USB port.
This product complies with the legal, national and European regulations. All names of compa-
nies and products are trademarks of the respective owners. All rights reserved.

Safety Instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions! We do not assume liability for conse-
quential damage!
Nor do we assume any liability for material and personal damage caused by
improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions! The warranty will
be void in such cases.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible for
safety and approval reasons (CE). Do not open/dismantle the device (apart from
replacing the batteries of the IR remote control)! Contains no customer-serviceable
parts.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children.
• The product must not get damp or wet.
• The product is only suitable for use in temperate, not tropical, climates.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous play-
things for children.
• Handle the product with care, since knocks, blows or even a fall from a low height
can damage it.
Notes on batteries/rechargeable batteries
• Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries away from children.
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by chil-
dren or pets. If swallowed, consult a doctor immediately.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries might cause acid burns when making
contact with skin. Therefore, in such a case use suitable protective gloves.
• Batteries or rechargeable batteries may never be short-circuited, opened or thrown into fire.
There is a risk of explosion!
• Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion! Only charge rechargeable bat-
teries that are intended for this purpose, use suitable rechargeable battery chargers.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay
attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
• If not used for a long period (e.g. in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/-
accumulators. Old batteries/rechargeable batteries can leak and cause damage to the prod-
uct; loss of guarantee/warranty!
• Use either 2 batteries or 2 rechargeable batteries; never mix batteries with rechargeable bat-
teries.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries, do not mix batteries with different states (e.g.
charged and half charged batteries).

Inserting Batteries into Remote Control, Change of Battery
Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control and insert two batteries type
micro/AAA with correct polarity into the remote control (pay attention to plus/+ and minus/-).
Close the battery compartment.
The battery needs to be changed if the VGA TV converter no longer reacts to the IR remote con-
trol or if the range of the IR remote control has become very small.
Connection
• Turn off the computer and the monitor.
• Connect the power connector of the VGA TV converter to the power supply.
Option A: Use the USB power cable supplied; connect it to a free USB port on your comput-
er/USB hub (high-power USB port required, which can supply up to 500mA electric current; only
USB hub with own power supply or USB port of the computer)
Option B: Use the PS/2 power cable supplied; connect it to the PS/2 keyboard connector or
PS/2 mouse connector).
• Now connect the VGA connecting cable included in delivery. All three connectors are labelled:
Connect the plug marked „SCAN CNVTR" with the VGA connector (6) of the converter;
the „PC" plug with the VGA output of your graphics card and the „MONITOR" plug with your
monitor.
• Connect one of the four outputs (CVBS-Video, S-Video, RGB, Y/Cb/Cr) via the corresponding
cable to your TV (or VCR, etc.) and then move the slide switch (8) into the proper position for
each of the corresponding outputs.

• Now switch on all devices (computer, monitor, converter).
Key functions of the converter
„POWER" key
Use it to turn the converter on or off. When the converter is switched on,
the Power LED (7) lights up.
„SAVE" key
This key allows you to save all settings.
„PAL/NTSC" key
Via this button you can switch to the different PAL/NTSC modes. For
Germany the correct setting is „PAL".
„FINE TUNE" key
For fine tuning of the video picture.
„Menu" key
With each push of a button it is switched between the following func-
tions:
„FREEZE"
„H/SIZE"
„V/SIZE"
„BRIGHTNESS" Brightness
„CONTRAST"
„HUE"
„SATURATION" Colour saturation
„FLICKER"
„OSD COLOR"
„RESET"
„ZOOM" key
Zooms the picture; move the picture detail with the „UP", „DOWN", „LEFT"
and „RIGHT" keys or with the arrow keys of the remote control; press the
key again to end the zoom mode
Control keys
The control keys „UP" (1), „DOWN" (2), „LEFT" (3) and „RIGHT" (4) are
used for adjustment, depending on the selected function (e.g. picture
width, picture height, etc.).
