Safety instructions
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions. We do not assume liability for conse-
quential damage!
We do not assume any liability for material and personal damage caused
by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The war-
ranty will be void in such cases.
Dear customer,
These safety instructions are not only for the protection of the product but also
for your own safety and that of other people. Therefore, read this chapter very
carefully before taking the product into operation!
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissi-
ble for safety and approval reasons (CE). Do not open/disassemble! There are
no parts on the inside that need to be adjusted or maintained by you.
• The design of the mains transformer complies with protection class II. As for
the voltage source for the mains transformer, only a proper power socket
connected to the public grid may be used. For the permitted operating voltage
for the mains adapter, please refer to the chapter „Technical Data" at the end
of this operating manual.
• Never plug in, or remove, the power unit when your hands are wet!
• The product must not get damp or wet, it is only intended for use in dry, indoor
locations.
Further, protect the product from direct solar radiation, strong heat (>35°C),
cold (<0°C), dust and dirt, splashes and dripping water, vibrations or mechan-
ical loads.
• When the product is taken from a cold to a warm room (e.g. during transport),
condensation may be produced. This could damage the product. This might
cause a lethal electric shock!
Therefore, you should allow the product to warm up to room temperature
before using it or connecting the power adapter to an electric socket. This may
take several hours.
• Do not operate the product if it is damaged.
Do not touch the plug-in power supply in the event of damage. First, switch off
the mains socket to which the product is connected (e.g. switch off the circuit
breaker) and then carefully unplug the power unit from the mains socket.
Disconnect the plug-in power supply from the device. Never operate the prod-
uct with a damaged power supply! There is a risk of a life-threatening electric
shock!
• The manufacturer's safety instructions for devices to which the splitter will be
connected must also be observed. You should, therefore, also carefully read
other relevant operating instructions.

Setup and Connection
• Connect the input („IN") of the DVI Splitter to the DVI output e.g. the graphics card of a
computer, via a DVI cable.
• Following that, connect one or several outputs („Out1" to „Out4") of the DVI Splitter via a
corresponding cable with the display devices (monitors, video projectors).
• Connect the DVI Splitter with the low voltage plug of the mains adapter; then plug the
mains adapter into a proper mains socket. The power LED lights up. Apart from the
Power LED, there are also 4 LEDs for the four outputs.
Turn the playback devices (monitors, beamers) on that are connected to the DVI Splitter
and then switch the computer on. After that, the picture of the computer should be dis-
played on all connected playback devices.
• Place the DVI Splitter on a solid, even and stable surface so that it cannot fall down.
Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable underlay.
• The product is only suitable for use in temperate, not tropical, climates.
• Never pour liquids over the product and never place objects filled with liquid on
top of it (e. g. vases). You run the risk of causing a fire or a fatal electric shock!
If this is the case, de-energise the respective mains socket (e.g. switch off cir-
cuit breaker) and then pull the power adapter out of the socket. Disconnect all
cables from the device. The product must not be operated any longer. Take it
to a specialist workshop.
• Do not place sources of naked flame, such as burning candles, on the device
or in its vicinity.
• Do not bend the cables and do not place objects on them.
• Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the power supply and the switch during
operation. Do not cover the power supply unit and the device with newspapers,
sheets, curtains or similar. Keep a minimum distance of about 5 cm from oth-
er objects.
• This product is not a toy, it is not suitable for children. Children are not aware
of the potential dangers when using electrical devices.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the
Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and
Operating Materials are to be observed.
• In schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops the operation
of the product is to be supervised by trained employees.
• Handle the product with care; it might be damaged by pushes, blows, or falls
even from a low height.
• If you have doubts about how the equipment should be operated or how to
safely connect it, consult a trained technician.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this instruction manual,
please contact our technical support centre or consult a professional.
Connect the input and the outputs of the DVI Splitter only to devices with com-
patible connections. Graphic cards with HDMI output or monitors with HDMI
input may be used, too. However, a suitable adapter might be required.
Furthermore, please observe that the DVI Splitter only transmits the digital video
signal, and not the audio signal that is possible with HDMI interfaces.
The DVI Splitter is mainly intended for the connection of a computer and up to
four computer monitors or video projectors.
Only use suitable cables for cabling.
The DVI Splitter can only distribute digital video signals. It is not suited for the
splitting of analogue video signals or audio signals!
Carefully read the input and output connection and/or compatibility section in the
relevant operating instructions of the devices that are to be connected to the
splitter.
Switch off the devices to be connected before connecting them to the connect-
ing jacks of the DVI Splitter. Do not put them into operation again until you have
made all necessary connections and checked them over once again.
Proceed in the same way when changing the cable connections.
