specialist workshop.
There are no components for you to adjust or maintain within the device.
• The product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children!
Pay particular attention, if children are present! Children could short-circuit the
rechargeable battery, which may cause a fire or an explosion. This presents a
danger to life!
• In schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops, the operation of
the product must be supervised by trained employees.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the Employer's
Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and Operating Facilities are

b) Charger
°
• This battery charger may be used only to charge a rechargeable Li ion battery of
type "18650". Never insert other rechargeable batteries or even non-rechargeable
batteries in the charger. There is a great risk of fire or explosion!
• The product complies with the protection class II.
• The charger may be operated only in dry, closed rooms. The charger may not get
damp and wet, as there is a risk of a fatal electric shock!
• Place the battery charger on a flat, stable and sufficiently large surface.
• Keep the charger away from easily flammable materials (e.g. drapes, paper), liq-
uids (e.g. gasoline) or gases.
• Protect the mains cable of the battery charger from sharp edges or objects. Never
place objects onto the mains cable.
• Do not place any containers filled with liquid, e.g. vases or plants, on or next to
the charger. If these liquids get into the interior of the device, the charger will be
destroyed, and there is also the greatest danger through an electric shock!
• If liquids spill onto the charger or even enter it, or if the charger or the mains cable
is damaged, switch off the mains socket to which the charger is connected by
disconnecting all poles. To do this, first turn off the corresponding circuit breakers
or unscrew the fuse. Then, switch off the associated ground fault circuit interrupter
(breaker).
Only after that can you unplug the mains plug of the charger from the mains sock-
et. Do not use the product any longer; rather, take it to a specialised workshop or
dispose of it in an environmentally friendly manner.
• Ensure that there is sufficient ventilation during operation; never cover the charger
and the connected battery. Leave sufficient distance (at least 5 cm) between the
charger and other objects. Overheating poses a risk of fire!
• Do not operate the charger unattended. Although there is a wide range of compre-
hensive safety mechanisms on the device, it is impossible to exclude the possibil-
ity of malfunctions or problems occurring while charging a battery.
• When you work with the charger or rechargeable batteries, never wear metallic
or strongly conductive materials, such as jewellery (necklaces, bracelets, rings or
similar objects). A short circuit at the battery or charger poses a danger of fire and
explosion.
• Placing metallic leads and contacts between rechargeable battery and charging
slot is not permitted! The battery that is to be charged must be inserted directly into
the charging slot of the charger.
• When the charging process has ended, remove the rechargeable battery from the
charger.
• Use the device only in a moderate climate; do not use it in a tropical climate.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been brought from a cold room
into a warm one. The resulting condensation may lead to malfunctions or damage
under certain circumstances! There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock!
Let the charger reach room temperature before using it. This may take several
hours!
• If you are not going to use the charger for a long time (e.g. in storage), remove the
rechargeable battery and disconnect the charger from the power supply (unplug it
from the mains outlet). Then store the charger in a clean, dry place.
c) General information on handling the rechargeable Li ion battery
• The product is not a toy. Keep the rechargeable battery out of the reach of children.
• Do not leave the battery lying around in the open; there is a risk they will be swal-
lowed by children or domestic animals. In such a case, call a doctor immediately!
• The rechargeable battery may not be short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into fire;
never damage the outer casing of a battery. There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• A leaking or damaged rechargeable battery may burn the skin if touched. Under
these circumstances, protect your hands with suitable gloves.
• Liquids leaking from rechargeable battery are very chemically aggressive. Objects
or surfaces coming into contact with these liquids might be considerably damaged.
Thus, store the rechargeable battery in a suitable location.
• The rechargeable battery must not get damp or wet. Protect the rechargeable bat-
tery against strong coldness, heat or direct sunlight.
• Never charge the rechargeable battery unattended.
• Please observe the correct polarity (plus/+ and minus/-) when inserting recharge-
able battery into the charger and into the LED torch.
• Do not charge the rechargeable battery when it is still hot. Allow the battery to cool
down to room temperature before charging it.
• Never charge a damaged, leaking or deformed rechargeable battery. This can
result in a fire or explosion! Dispose of a battery that has become unusable in this
way in an environmentally friendly manner; do not place it in the charger.
