3.4 Emptying and cleaning
the dust container

Empty the dust container after each vacuuming
session.
Empty the dust container at the latest when the
accumulated dirt in the dust container has reached the
"MAX" mark (Fig. 16/1).
ATTENTION:

Before you empty the dust container, switch off the
appliance and observe the instructions under
3.2, "Switching off and retracting the power cable". In this
way you avoid dust destroying the appliance.
1. Remove the dust container by unlatching it with your

thumb as shown (Fig. 17/a) and then fold it down
(Fig. 17/b).
NOTE:
Be careful when removing the dust container so that no
dust escapes.

You can dispose of the contents of the dust container
with your normal domestic waste as long as it does not

contain any material not allowed in domestic waste.
2. When emptying the dust container, hold it low over a
dustbin.
3. Push the release button (Fig. 18/1). The bottom plate

(Fig. 18/2) opens and the dust runs into the dustbin.
4. Carefully knock the remaining dust loose.
5. Remove all residual dust possibly clinging to the dust
container. Use only a dry cloth to do this, or, if
necessary, a brush with soft bristles.

6. Close the bottom.
7. At this occasion also check the cyclone unit ( Chapter
4.1, "Cleaning the cyclone unit"), the housing
( Chapter 4.2, "Cleaning the housing") and the motor
protection filter ( Chapter 4.5, "Cleaning the motor
protection filter").
8. Place the dust container onto the cylinder vacuum
cleaner. Press the dust container firmly into its
mounting bracket (Fig. 19) until it snaps into place.
NOTE:
It might be necessary to push a bit harder. To make it
easier, keep the release button pressed down when
inserting the dust container.
9. Check that the dust container is securely fitted.
