8. Operation/Programming

a) General information
• Shortly after switching the voltage supply to the "ES-3" on, the latter sends its first data
packet.
• Afterwards, data packets are sent in 5 minute intervals.. Data transmission is indicated via
a brief flashing of the control lamp.

Please note:
When the operating voltage is switched on, a new data recording starts, i.e. all
energy data that was previously recorded will be deleted.
When installing the "ES-3" in a metal cabinet, there can be a considerable
decrease of the radio range.
In such a case, place the receiver(s) nearer to the "ES-3".

b) Address assigning

The top hat rail can be assigned the addresses 5...8 of the address space of the system. With
"ES-3" the address 5 is set ex works.
The latter must be modified only if already another energy sensor of the system exists and
transmits with this address.
For setting the address proceed as follows:
1. Press and hold the programming button of the "ES-3" for approximately 5 seconds until the
control lamp flashes.
2. Release the button. Now the control lamp blinks periodically according to the currently set
address.
3. By briefly pressing the button, the address goes up by one number respectively or it
changes back from address 8 to address 5.
4. When the desired address is set, press the button for approximately 2 seconds. During this
time the control lamp flashes continuously.
As soon as the control lamp goes out, release the button. Now the new address is accepted
and will be transmitted with the following data packet.
