vorbehalten.
Lieferumfang
• Mini-Kartenleser
• Bedienungsanleitung
Merkmale
• USB2.0 (abwärtskompatibel zu USB1.1)
• Ein Einschub für eine Speicherkarte
• LED (Dauerleuchten: Speicherkarte eingesteckt; Blinken: Lese-/Schreibzugriff auf die Speicherkarte)
• Zum Betrieb ist mindestens Windows ME/XP nötig
Anschluss
USB-Hubs. Die Treiber sind
bereits in Windows enthalten (mindestens Windows ME bzw. XP erforderlich).
Wenden Sie beim Einstecken keine Gewalt an!

lichen Bestimmungen.

Mini Card Reader
Version 09/08
Item No. 41 23 60
Prescribed use
The product can be connected to a USB port of a computer. It is designed to read and write a corresponding
memory card.
The product corresponds to the valid national and European guidelines. All company names and product
designations contained herein are trademarks of the respective owners. All rights are reserved.
Scope of Delivery
• Mini Card Reader
• Operating manual
Features
• USB2.0 (downwardly compatible USB1.1)
• One slot for a memory card
• LED (lights continuously): Memory card inserted; flashes: read/write accessing on the memory card
• Minimum operating requirement is Windows ME/XP
Connection
Switch your computer on and wait until the operating system is completely booted.
Insert the card reader in a free USP port of your computer or USB hub. The drivers are already included
in Windows (minimum requirement Windows ME or XP). Windows recognizes the card reader automati-
cally and installs all necessary drivers.
Afterwards, the card reader appears in the File Explorer as additional drive.
Inserting/removing memory cards
Insert the memory card correctly into the slot of the card reader; there is only one correct orientation. Do
not use any force when you are inserting it!
If the memory card is recognized, the LED flashes on the card reader continuously.
If a read/write access is carried out on the memory card, wait until the access is finished (a flashing LED
on the card reader indicates that data is being written/read). Do not remove the memory card. If the memory
card is removed during a reading/writing access (LED flashes on the card reader), data on the memory card
can be damaged and a new formatting of the memory card might be necessary.
Plugging in and Unplugging the Card Reader
Remove the plugged in memory card before the connection or the disconnection of the card reader or
before turning the computer off in order to prevent possible damage to the data stored in the memory card
or the memory card itself.
Reading/Writing of Memory Cards
The plug-in unit of the card reader is integrated like a normal removable medium drive. Windows
automatically allocates an additional drive letter.
You can now read the data of the memory card (or store data on the memory card) in the file explorer, as
you are used to from hard disks or floppy drives.
Tips & Notes
• For some memory cards (e.g. high speed memory cards) a high power USB port is necessary; this is a
USB port, that can provide a power of more than 100mA (e.g. the USB port of the mainboard or of a USB
hub with its own plug-in power supply). USB hubs without own plug-in power supply provide, in general,
max. 100mA per USB port.
• When deleting or writing on memory cards in SD format you have to make sure that the write protection
is off.
• Use preferably a USB2.0 port to connect the card reader.
USB ports of older computers in keyboards or in monitors often support USB1.1 only. Here, the max. data
rate is approximately 1Mbyte per second. Depending on the speed of your memory card, with USB2.0,
several Mbyte/s are possible!
Therefore, for a fast transfer, you should always use a USB2.0 port for the card reader (tremendous
saving of time during data transfer!).
