OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
HDMI-compatible switch
410R P3
Item-No. 34 26 62
Intended use
The switch is used to connect 4 appliances with HDMI-compatible outputs to one device with HDMI-compatible input. The
switch is for use exclusively as connection of HDMI-compatible inputs and outputs on appropriate AV-devices.
As power supply, only use the supplied mains adapter. The power unit is only permitted for the connection to 100-240V~/
50-60Hz alternating current.
It can only be used in closed rooms, and therefore not outdoors. Contact with humidity, e.g. in wet rooms and similar, must
be avoided at all times.
Any use other than that described above could lead to damage to this product and involves the risk of short circuits, fire,
electric shock, etc.
The product must not be modified or converted, and the casing must not be opened.
The safety instructions must be observed at all times.
This product complies with the applicable national and European specifications.
Safety Instructions
The warranty will lapse for damage due to non-compliance with these operating instructions. We
will not assume liability for any resulting damage.
Nor do we assume liability for damage to property or personal injury, caused by improper use or a
failure to observing the safety instructions. The warranty will be rendered null and void in such
cases.
An exclamation mark in a triangle means there are important instructions you should read.
For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion and/or modifications to the product are not permitted.
The plug-in power supply is designed for safety class II and must only be operated on a public mains output.
Do not touch the plug-in power supply if it shows any damage. First, de-energize the corresponding mains socket (e.g.
via the respective circuit-breaker) and afterwards carefully pull the power adapter out of the socket. Disconnect the plug-
in power supply from the device. Never operate the product with a damaged power supply.
In order to disconnect the unit from the power system completely the power supply must be disconnected from the power
socket.
Never connect or disconnect power units if your hands are wet.
Please also observe the safety instructions provided by the producers of the devices you wish to connect. You should
therefore also carefully read the relevant other operating instructions.
Do not take up operation of the product if it is damaged.
The product is not a toy and should be kept out of reach of children! Children cannot assess the dangers involved when
dealing with electrical devices.
Never pour out liquids above electrical appliances and never leave objects filled with liquids (e.g. vases) in the vicinity.
This would cause a serious danger of fire or electric shock. If this is the case, de-energise the respective mains socket
(eg switch off circuit breaker) and then pull the power adapter out of the socket. Disconnect all cables from the device.
Afterwards, the product must no longer be used, bring it to a specialist workshop.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dripping or splashing water, strong vibration or heavy mechanical loads.
Do not place open sources of fire, such as burning candles, on or right next to the device.
Make sure you have sufficient ventilation to the power supply and the switch during time of operation. Do not cover the
units with newspapers, sheets, curtains or similar. Keep a minimum distance of about 5 cm from other objects.
Do not use the device under extreme ambient conditions and avoid tropical environments.
Do not leave packing material unattended. It may become dangerous playing material for children.
Consult an expert when in doubt about the mode of operation, safety or connection of the device.
Should any questions arise that are not answered in this operating manual, contact our Technical Advisory Service or
another expert.
Connection
Only connnect to the junction devices with such plug-in connnections.
Should your device not have the required inputs or outputs, use a suitable adapter.
Use only suitable HDMI-compatible cables. In case of doubt, consult a specialist.
Carefully read the input and output connection and/or compatibility section in the relevant
operating instructions of the devices that are to be connected to the adapter.
Not following the instructions can lead to damage to the switch or the connected units.
Switch off the devices to be connected before connecting them to the connecting jacks. Do not put
them into operation again until you have made all necessary connections and checked them over
once again.
Stick to the same procedure when changing the connection to any of the devices.
Connect the inputs IN1 to IN4 with the outputs of your AV source device (DVD player, SAT receiver etc.).
Connect the output OUTPUT with the input of your TV, monitor or beamer.
Put the low-voltage plug of the enclosed power supply into the DC 5V connector socket .
Plug the power unit into a wall socket.
Inserting/changing the batteries of the remote control
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Please observe correct polarity when inserting the batteries.
Remove the battery when the device is not being used for longer periods of time.
Do not leave the batteries lying around in the open; there is the risk that they will be swallowed by
children or pets. In such case, seek instant medical care!
Batteries must never be short-circuited, taken apart or thrown into fire. There is a risk of explosion!
Do not recharge normal batteries. There is a risk of explosion!
Leaking or damaged batteries can cause burns if they come into contact with the skin. You should
therefore wear suitable protective gloves.
Unlatch the small lever on the bottom of the remote control and pull the battery holder out of the remote control's
compartment.
If applicable, remove the discharged button cell and insert a new 3V lithium button cell CR2025 observing the right
polarity. The correct position of the plus pole is imprinted on the battery holder.
Slide the battery compartment cover on to the remote control again. The latch must snap into place.
An insulation pad is inserted in the battery compartment of the remote control upon delivery. It prevents
unwanted discharge of the remote control battery during transport.
Pull this insulation pad out prior to putting the device into operation.
Operation
Switch the conversion switch on/off with the button POWER ON/OFF on the remote control or by pressing the button
POWER/SELECT on the device itself for a longer period (approx. 3 seconds). When the device is turned on, the red
operating LED on the device flashes.
The device switches automatically to the input carrying a signal. If there is a signal at several inputs, the device switches
to the last activated input. If there is no signal on any of the inputs, the red operating LED on the device flashes.
If the device is turned on without an input signal, it selects the last active input.
The respective inputs are selected directly with the buttons 1 to 4 on the remote control.
With the buttons << or >> on the remote control, or the button POWER/SELECT on the device, you access the individual
inputs in sequence.
The input whose green LED lights up on the device is the one connected to the output of the switch.
Handling
Never plug the power plug into a mains socket immediately after the device has been taken from a cold to a warm
environment. The condensation water created thereby may damage the device.
Allow the device to reach room temperature before connecting it. Wait until the condensation water has evaporated.
Never disconnect power plugs from the mains socket by the cable. Always pull out it out of the mains socket holding it
by the contact surfaces provided for this purpose.
Remove the plug mains unit from the wall socket if the device is not in use for a longer period of time.
For safety reasons, disconnect the power pack from the mains socket in case of an electrical storm.
Care and maintenance
Except for replacing the batteries, the switch does not have to be serviced and, except for occasional cleaning with a soft,
dry cloth, requires no care whatsoever.
Disposal
When the product is no longer usable, dispose of it in accordance with the applicable statutory regulations.
Disposal of spent batteries/rechargeable batteries
The user is legally obliged (battery regulation) to return used batteries and storage batteries. Do not
dispose of used batteries via the household rubbish.
Batteries/rechargeable batteries containing harmful substances are marked with the following symbols
which point out that the disposal via the domestic waste is prohibited. The designations for the relevant
heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can return used batteries/storage batteries
free of charge to any collecting point of your local authority, to our stores or to any other store where
batteries/storage batteries are sold.
You thus fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
