Getting started
If the top surface of the solar cell or refl ectors of the LED spot-
light is covered the transport protection fi lm then remove it
now.
• Remove the rubber gasket (1) on the bottom side of the LED spotlight.
Then insert the plug (2) of the solar module cable end into the socket (3).
• The LED spotlight is delivered with an empty rechargeable battery. Be-
fore initial setting in operation, the rechargeable battery should ideally be
charged for 2 days in the sunshine.
Setting the switching time
The control knob (see the picture to the right) enables various functions:
„OFF": LED spotlight is switched off.
„5 sec" or „20 sec": If the PIR motion sensor detects temperature vari-
ation in the detection range then the LED spotlight is switched on for 5 or
20 seconds, and off thereafter.
If new temperature change is detected by the PIR motion sensor within
this period, the switching period is started over again.
The LED spotlight goes out if no temperature change is detected any more in the detection range for 5 or
20 seconds.
„Flashing": If the PIR motion sensor detects any temperature variation in the detection range then the LED
of the LED spotlight will be fl ashing for 20 seconds.
If new temperature change is detected by the PIR motion sensor within this period, then the fl ashing will start
over for 20 seconds again.
The LED spotlight goes out if no temperature change is detected any more in the detection range for 20
seconds.
Setting the brightness control
This knob allows the switching threshold to be set, i.e. the ambient bright-
ness at which the motion switch is activated.
Turning the dial counter clockwise to the left in the "Night" direction will
make the motion sensor activate when it is darker; turning it clockwise
to the right in the „Day" direction will make the motion sensor activate in
brighter environment.
Testing the motion sensor
• Previously, the rechargeable battery of the LED spotlight should be suffi ciently charged. For the period of
charging, the control knob should the put into "OFF" position. The solar module charges the battery in the
LED spotlight after 2 sunny days.
• Turn the brightness control knob to the "DAY" position.
• As a switching period set "5 sec" by the control knob.
As a result, the LED spotlight will switch on for app.15 seconds. Leave the detection range of the PIR
motion sensor.
• Now cross the detection range. LED spotlight should now switch on.
As described above, the LED spotlight remains switched on as long as temperature variation is
detected in the detection range.
The LED spotlight goes out as soon as you leave the detection range and the PIR motion sensor
detects no temperature variations for 5 seconds.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The product does not require any maintenance and should never be disassembled for any reason.
Any maintenance or repair work must only be carried out by authorised personnel/workshop.
The exterior of the product can be cleaned with a soft cloth dampened with water. Never use aggressive
cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the surface of the casing or impair the
operation.
Never aim jet of the garden hose or a pressure washer at the LED spotlight or the solar module!
It is advisable to clean thoroughly the surface of the solar module at least once a year, to maximize the
charging rate.
Disposal
a) General
Dispose of the unserviceable product according to the relevant statutory regulations!
Remove the rechargeable battery installed in the LED spotlight and dispose of it separately from
the product.
b) Disposal of spent rechargeable batteries
As an ultimate consumer, you are legally obliged (according to the battery ordinance) to return all used rechargeable
batteries; disposal in the household waste is prohibited!
Contaminated rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that disposal in
the domestic waste is forbidden.
The symbols for dangerous heavy metal constituents are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb =
Lead.
You can return used rechargeable batteries free of charge to any collecting facility of your local authority, to
our stores or to any other store where rechargeable batteries are sold.
Thus, you meet the legal requirements and contribute to the protection of the environment!

Troubleshooting

LED spotlight does not function.
• Make sure that the battery pack is plugged in inside the LED spotlight. For this purpose, just remove
the fastening screw of the wall-mounting plate on the bottom side of the LED spotlight and then detach
the LED spotlight from the wall-mounting plate. If the L-shaped metal arm is used, the latter should be
removed fi rst.
• The rechargeable battery is delivered in an empty state. First, it should be charged for two sunny days.
Also, turn off the LED spotlight by putting the switching time control knob to the "OFF" position.
• Make sure that the connection plug on the cable end of the solar module is correctly and properly plugged
into the socket in the bottom side of the LED spotlight.
The PIR motion sensor does not work properly.
• The motion detection works on the basis of the detection of temperature variations in the detection range.
So mere motion is not enough for an object to be detected, it has to stand out against a background by its
temperature.
• Adjust the orientation of the motion sensor. Check its functionality, see section "Testing the motion sensor".
• The provided cover can reduce the range of detection.
• The range is largely depends on the size of the moving object and its temperature difference against
the background. If the motion sensor is directed e.g. towards a warm house wall, then a person moving
through the detection range will be hard to detect.
In winter, heavy clothes complicate correct triggering of the motion sensor.
• In ideal case, the detection range has to be crossed sidewise. The detection is poorer, if you move directly
towards the PIR motion sensor.
The LED spotlight switches on for a longer period than was set up.
• The device is automatically restarted for 5 or 20 second switching time, if a new temperature variation is
detected by the motion sensor in the detection range within this period.
The light is on until the motion sensor detects no temperature variation during the set up time.
