Raspberry Pi Starter-Kit

Intended Use
This product serves as a central minicomputer for a variety of applications. On the
Internet and here in this publication you will find universal and versatile accessories
that not only turn the "Raspberry Pi" into a media player but for instance, also into a
computer in control.
Within the Starter Kit you will find a fitting plastic housing for the single-board compu-
ter "Raspberry Pi", a AC adapter for a power supply, and also a USB Wi-Fi stick, HDMI
compatible AV cables as well as a SDHC memory card.
The safety instructions must be followed!
Any usage other than described above will cause damage to the product; beyond that
it can lead to hazards associated with short- circuit, fire and electric shock.

Explanation of the symbols
The symbol of a lightning bolt in a triangle is used to alert you of a danger to
your health, such as electric shock.
This symbol indicates special risks in connection with handling, operation or
maintenance.
The "arrow" symbol indicates special tips and operating information.
Safety Instructions
D amages caused by failure to comply with these operating instructions
will invalidate the warranty/guarantee! We do not assume liability for any
consequential damage!
N or do we assume liability for any material damage or personal injury
caused by improper use or non-compliance with the safety instructions.
Such a case renders the warranty/guarantee invalid.
a) General
• For safety and certification (CE), the unauthorized alteration and/or modi-
fication of the device is not permitted.
• This product is not a toy; keep out of the reach of children. Mount and
operate the product in such a way that it cannot be reached by children.
• Do not use the WLAN adapter in hospitals or medical facilities. Radio fre-
quency signals can reasonably be expected to cause the failure of life
support systems. This may also be the case in other areas.
• Handle the product with care; shocks, knocks or a fall from even low
heights can damage the product.
• If you notice any damage to your product, avoid using it, and take it to a
qualified specialist workshop.
A safe operation is not longer liable, if:
- The product shows noticeable signs of damage
- The product has stopped working
- The product has been stored under unfavorable conditions for a longer
period of time
- Was subject to considerable transport stress
• If the product is moved too quickly from a cold room into a warm room, you
cause condensation to build up.
Therefore let your product adjust to the room temperature before you con-
nect it to the power supply. Depending on the circumstances, this can
take several hours.
A wet or damp power plug adapter poses a danger to life caused by elec-
tric shock!
• Do not leave packaging material lying around carelessly; they may
become a dangerous toy for children.
• Commercial institutions must observe the accident prevention regulations
of the Employer's Liability Insurance Association for electrical equipment
and facilities.
b) AC Adapter
• The design of the AC adapter conforms with protection class II.
• Connect the AC adapter only to a proper power socket of the public elec-
tricity supply.
• The power outlet for the AC adapter must be positioned in close proximity
of the product and easily accessible.
• The AC adapter is only suitable for indoor use in dry, closed rooms; it
should never get damp or wet. Life-endangering risk caused by electric
shock!
• Do not pull the AC adapter by the power cable from sockets.
• Protect the AC adapter cable against sharp edges; do not step on it.
• Do not touch the AC adapter if it is damaged; there is life threatening dan-
ger from electric shock hazard!
First, disconnect the power supply to the AC adapter by disconnecting the
plug from where the AC adapter is connected (e.g., turn off correspon-
ding circuit breaker, or remove the fuse, then switch off the corresponding
ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI).
Only then unplug the AC adapter from the power outlet and take it to a
qualified technician or dispose of it in an environmental friendly manner.
Replace the AC adapter with an identical power supply model that has the
same technical specifications.
c) Single-board computer "Raspberry Pi"
• Only operate the single-board computer, when it is installed in the housing
supplied. Improper operation poses the risk of a short circuit that can ruin
the product and all connected devices!
• Use only appropriate accessories to enhance your "Raspberry Pi".
• We recommend the use of related Internet sites or appropriate literature
for further reading, if you do not have the appropriate skills to operate the
"Raspberry Pi".
