INTENDED USE
The digital storage oscilloscope is for the visual representation of electrical quantities and
signals. Two independent input channels are available for the electric measurement. The
probes are connected to the oscilloscope via BNC connectors.
The measured signals can be saved on a USB stick (not included in the delivery, to be
ordered separately).
The control is performed via VDU based control menus.
The measuring voltages indicated on the device must never be exceeded. Use divider probes
if necessary.
Only connect the storage oscilloscope to a grounded safety socket (Schuko) of the public
power supply system.
Any use other than the one described above could damage this product and involves the risk
of short circuits, fi re, electric shock, etc.
The product may not be modifi ed or rebuilt nor should the casing be opened.
Do not measure in damp rooms or outdoors, nor under adverse environmental conditions!
Unfavourable ambient conditions are:
• Wet conditions or high air humidity,
• Dust and fl ammable gases, vapours or solvent,
• Thunderstorms or similar conditions such as strong electrostatic fi elds etc.
Always observe the safety notes included in these operating instructions.
This quick guide explains safety measures to make working with the device as safe as
possible. The individual functions of the device are described in more detail in the enclosed
operating manual in English.

The lightning symbol indicates a health hazard, e.g. electric shock or the impair-
ment of the device's electrical safety.
The exclamation mark indicates specifi c risks associated with handling, function
and use.
The "arrow" symbol indicates special tips and operating instructions.
This product is CE-compliant and therefore meets the necessary European guide-
lines.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Please read all the instructions before using this device, they include impor-
tant information on its correct operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to
observe these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any
consequential damage!
We shall not accept liability for damage to property or personal injury caused
by incorrect handling or non-compliance with the safety instructions. The
warranty will be void in such cases.
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modifi cation of the unit is not permitted
because of safety and approval reasons (CE).
• The construction of the product corresponds with protection class 1. Only a cor-
rect earthed mains socket of the public power supply should be used as power
source.
• The product is not a toy. Measuring devices and devices connected to the power
supply should be kept out of the reach of children. Therefore, be especially care-
ful when children are around.
• First connect the BNC output of the probe to the oscilloscope before you connect
the probe with the electrical circuit to be tested. After the measuring is completed,
please disconnect the measuring contacts fi rst before disconnecting the BNC
output of the probe from the oscilloscope.
• Take particular care when dealing with voltages exceeding >25V AC or >35V
DC! Even at such voltages you can receive a life-threatening electric shock if you
come into contact with live electric wires.
• Prior to each measurement, check your instrument and its measuring leads for
damage. Never make any measurements if the protecting insulation is defective
(torn, missing etc.)
• To avoid electric shock, do not to touch the connections/measuring points directly
or indirectly during measurements.
• Never touch the probes outside of the marked handling area during a measure-
ment. There is danger of a life-threatening electric shock.
• Do not use the device shortly before or after a thunderstorm (lightning! / high-
energy overvoltages!). Make sure that your hands, shoes, clothing, the fl oor, the
measuring device and/or measuring lines, the circuits and its parts are always
dry.
• Do not use the product indoors, or in poor ambient conditions, where fl ammable
gases, vapours or explosive dust may be present or are present!
• Do not use near:
- strong magnetic or electromagnetic fi elds
- transmitting aerials or HF generators.
These can affect the measurement.
• Only use measuring cables, or equipment, appropriate for the oscilloscope's
specifi cations when taking measurements.
• If you have reason to assume that safe operation is no longer possible, disconnect
the device immediately and secure it against inadvertent operation. It can be
assumed that safe operation is no longer possible if:
- the device is visibly damaged,
- the device does not function any longer and
- the device has been stored under adverse conditions
- it was exposed to heavy loads during transport.
• Never use the product immediately after it has been taken from a cold room to a
warm one. The condensation that forms might destroy your device. Allow the ap-
pliance to reach room temperature. Only after that may the device be connected
and used.
• Never disassemble the product! There is a risk of a lethal electric shock!
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
