Wartung und Pflege
Beachten Sie dabei unbedingt die Sicherheitshinweise. Bei Schaltungsänderungen /
Eingriffen erlischt der Garantieanspruch. Wenden Sie sich bei Reparaturen oder Ein-
stellungen, im Innern des Gerätes, an unsere Service-Werkstatt. Zur Reinigung neh-
men Sie einen sauberes, trockenes, antistatisches und fusselfreies Reinigungstuch.
Achtung!
Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung keine carbonhaltigen Reinigungsmittel
oder Benzine, Alkohole oder ähnliches. Dadurch wird die Oberfläche
des Meßgerätes angegriffen. Außerdem sind die Dämpfe gesundheits-
schädlich und explosiv. Verwenden Sie zur Reinigung auch keine
scharfkantigen Werkzeuge, Schraubendreher oder Metallbürsten o.ä.

Installation of software,
System requirements
A CD is included in the package for installing the software. The Windows 98 operating
system, or a later version, is required to start and obtain perfect operation. At least 32
MB main memory and 20 MB of free hard disk capacity are required . The pulse fre-
quency should be more than 200 MHz. A free USB interface is also required for opera-
ting the DSO. The screen / graphics card should be capable of a minimum resolution of
600 x 800 and have a color depth of at least 16 bit. Install as follows:
Important!
The software must have been successfully installed before the hard-
ware (DSO) is connected and operated.
Insert the CD in the CD drive of your computer (or notebook). The Start-up menu
should be displayed automatically. If this is not the case, access Windows Explorer
and click on "SETUP.EXE".
Follow the on-screen instructions (enter the code number). Your computer's "DirectX"
version is then checked. If it is older than Version 6.0, updating will take place auto-
matically. The DirectX Setup will start. Here also follow the on-screen instructions.
Important!
Operation of the software / the DSO without "DirectX 6.0" or higher
cannot be guaranteed.
Finally click on "Finish" in the last on-screen instruction to reboot (restart) the computer
(or notebook). This concludes the installation of the software.
Connecting the hardware and putting it
into operation
Connect the DSO to the switched-off computer (or notebook) using an USB
interface cable. Then switch on the PC (or notebook). The Soft-Scope symbol is dis-
played on the desktop, but the actual program can also be accessed via "Programs".
After a brief initialisation phase (interface check etc.), the soft-scope interface is dis-
played on screen. The DSO is set / operated using the cursor (and by clicking on the
left mouse button).
Operating instructions
The complete control panel of the digital storage oscilloscope can now be seen on
screen, with the menu bar at the top with the sub-functions being represented to
