OPERATING THE DEVICE

• Connect the mains plug of the device to the mains network and connect the power cord to the
device or insert batteries, as described in the chapter "Inserting batteries".
• Open the lid of the CD compartment on the top of the device by lifting the CD compartment
opener
OPEN / CLOSE and remove the protective cardboard from the CD compartment. Once this is
done, a CD can be placed into the CD compartment.
• Then shut the CD compartment again by pushing it downwards gently until you can hear it audibly
click into place.
• Now slide the function switch of the device to the desired function (CD / FM / AM).
• To switch off the device, switch the function switch to OFF.
RADIO
To switch to radio mode, slide the function switch of the device to the desired broadcast frequency,
FM or AM.
Adjusting the station
• Fully extend the telescopic antenna.
• Select your desired station within the chosen frequency band by turning the tuning knob. The
station currently selected is shown on the broadcast frequency scale.
• Extending the antenna helps improve the broadcast quality of the station tuned into.
• The volume can be adjusted using the volume control VOLUME.
CD PLAYER
• To open the CD compartment, lift the CD compartment lid where you see the marking OPEN /
CLOSE.
• Insert a CD with the printed side facing upward into the CD compartment and shut the CD
compartment again, by pushing it downwards gently until you can hear it audibly click into place.
Playback of whole CD
• Switch the function switch of the device to the CD function. The indication "- -" flashes on the
display. The CD is now being scanned by the device.
• Once the CD has been scanned, the number of tracks appears on the display.
• Using the Play-Pause button 2; allows you to start the CD playback. The display then shows PLAY
1 indicating playback of the 1st track of the CD.
• The desired volume can be adjusted using the volume control.
• To interrupt the playback, press the Play-Pause button 2; once again. The PLAY indication flashes
on the display.
• To restart the CD, press the Play-Pause button 2; a further time. The indication on the display then
stops flashing and the CD restarts.
• To end the playback, press the stop button 9.
NOTE: When no CD has been inserted, the CD is not readable or the CD is blank, the indication
"- -" appears on the display.
Playback of a specific track
• Place a CD into the CD compartment.
• Press the fast forward button T or rewind button briefly S until the desired track number
appears on the display.
• Subsequently press the Play-Pause button 2;.
• When the fast forward or rewind button is pressed briefly during playback, you can jump forward
to the following track or go back to the start of the track currently being played.
• When you press the fast forward or rewind button and keep it held down, the track will be played
back at double speed forwards or backwards. This function allows you to select a chosen part of
your track from within the track itself.
