USING THE APPLIANCE / RADIO / ADJUSTING THE TUNER /
CD PLAYER / PLAYBACK OF A WHOLE CD / PLAYBACK OF A
PARTICULAR TRACK

USING THE APPLIANCE

• In order to run the appliance using mains
power, connect the power cable to the power
cable socket on the back of the appliance.
Then connect the appliance plug to a power
socket.
• In order to run the appliance with batteries,
please insert batteries as described in the
section "Inserting the Batteries".
• Open the lid of the CD compartment on top
of the appliance by carefully lifting the CD
compartment opener.
• When using the appliance for the first time,
please remove the protective paper from the
CD compartment. Next, a CD can be inserted
into the CD compartment, with the printed side
facing up.
• Close the CD compartment by pushing the lid
lightly downwards until you hear it lock into
position.
• Now slide the function switch on the appliance
to the desired function (radio or CD).
• In order to switch the appliance off, slide the
function switch to the OFF position.

RADIO

To select radio mode, slide the function switch to
"RADIO".

Adjusting the tuner

• Slide the frequency selection switch to the
desired frequency (AM, FM or FM Stereo).
• Unhook the antenna from its stored position
and extend fully.
• Search the selected frequency for the desired
radio station by turning the TUNING dial. The
current radio frequency can be seen at any
time by looking at the radio frequency scale.
• You can improve reception of the desired radio
station by adjusting the antenna.
• If the radio frequency selection switch is set to
FM Stereo (FM-ST), the FM Stereo indicator
will light up whenever a radio station is being
received in stereo.

CD PLAYER

• Open the CD compartment lid on the top of the
appliance.
• Insert a CD in the CD compartment and close
the CD compartment by pushing down on the
lid with slight pressure until you hear it lock
into position.
Playback of a whole CD
• Slide the function switch on the appliance to
CD mode. The display will blink " - - ". The CD
is being scanned by the appliance.
• After the CD has been scanned, the display
shows the number of tracks.
• CD playback can be started by pressing the
Play/Pause button
"1" for track 1 of the CD. During playback,
the Play/Pause indicator light is on.
• Volume can be adjusted to the desired level
using the volume control.
• To interrupt playback, press the Play/Pause
button a second time. The Play/Pause

indicator light will begin to blink. To start the
CD again, press the Play/Pause button
once more. The Play/Pause indicator light will
once more glow continusously.
• To end playback, press the Stop button
NOTE: If no CD is inserted, or if the CD cannot be
read, the display will first show "- -" followed by
"00". If the CD compartment is open, the display
will also show "00".

Playback of a particular track

• Insert a CD in the CD compartment.
• Briefly press the skip forward
backward button until the desired track
number appears in the display.
• Then press the Play/Pause button
• If during playback the skip forward or skip
backward button is pressed briefly, this will
make the CD move on to the next track or back
to the start of the track currently being played.
