Safety instructions

In this chapter you will fi nd
general safety instructions
which you must always ob-
serve for your own protec-
tion and that of third parties.
Please also observe the warn-
ing notices in the individual
chapters on operation, clean-
ing, etc.
WARNING
Risk of electric shock!
Touching live parts may result
in severe injury or death.
Check the appliance and

the power supply cable reg-
ularly for damage.
If the housing or the power
■
cord is damaged, the appli-
ance is dropped or leaking
or if there is other visible
damage, do not start the
appliance. In such a case,
please contact our custom-
er service (see page GB-15).
Only use the appliance in-
■
doors and never operate it
in damp rooms or expose it
to rain.
Never repair a defective or
■
suspected defective appli-
ance yourself. You can put
your own and future users'
lives in danger. Only author-
ised specialists are allowed
to carry out this repair work.
Always connect the appli-
■
ance to an easily accessi-
ble socket, so that you can
quickly unplug the mains
plug in an emergency.
Do not operate the appli-
■
ance with an external timer
or a separate remote con-
trol system.
Do not let the power cord
■
hang down to prevent chil-
dren or pets from pulling on
or getting caught in it.
Place the power cord in
■
such a way that it cannot
be reached or damaged by
either children or pets.
To avoid hazards, have a

damaged power cord re-
placed only by the manu-
facturer, the after-sales ser-
vice or a similarly qualifi ed
person.
If the appliance is giving

off smoke, a burning smell
or making unusual noises,
immediately switch off the
