Initial operation
Before connecting the amplifier, turn off the amplifier and all other devices connect-
ed to it and disconnect them from the power supply.
Proceed in the same way when changing the wiring.
Installation / set-up
The power amplifier can either be set up on a flat surface or installed into a rack system.
To install into a rack, screw the amplifier onto the rack rail through the fastening holes on the front
plate of the amplifier.
Take care not to place or mount the device in direct sunlight, and protect it from
vibration, dust, heat, cold and moisture. Keep the device away from powerful trans-
formers or motors.
The ventilation holes and the ventilation opening on the rear side should never be
covered up. If installed in a rack system, always remove both rack covers before ope-
ration.
Always operate the amplifier on a steady surface that is not heat-sensitive, and
make sure it is upright and has enough air circulating around it.
Not doing so may cause damage to the device.
The amplifier is heavy, so make sure that it is well mounted or on a stable surface to
avoid accidents.
Never place the device on valuable or delicate furniture surfaces without providing suffi-
cient protection.
Connection
The power amplifier is equipped with Cinch sockets and symmetrically wired XLR inputs. The type
of connection does not affect operation. However, make sure you always use only one type of
connection.
The power amplifier has stable screw terminals or additional SPEAKER jacks (only for PA 12000
model) to connect the loudspeaker.
Moreover, in the case of the PA 12000 model, the input signal can be directed to other power
amplifiers by means of the XLR output jacks. This is very useful if the power amplifier is used in par-
tially active systems as a subwoofer amplifier. The input signal can be directly looped through to the
mid-high tone power amplifier (e.g. PA 5000 or PA 8000 models) (see also connection diagram for
partially active operation).
