Switch-off in case of emergency
Switch off the system. Pull the mains plug.
Switching on the plant
Switch on the ON/OFF switch.
Immersion pump is working when:
a backwash is performed.
The water level in the recycled water
tank is below the starting level S7.
the water level in the pump basin is
above the starting level S4.1.
Backwash
During backwash, the dirt collected in the
gravel filter is removed. To do this, the
gravel filter is rinsed in the reverse direc-
tion. The rinsed dirt is routed to the sludge
collector of the recycling system.
The plant is equipped with an automatic
time-controlled multi-channel valve. The
backwash process is automatically started
by the backwash clock. During the back-
washing process, indicator lamp "Back-
wash gravel filter" glows.
Note
During normal operations, the backwash is
performed once a day. During backwash,
the recycled water tank is not refilled with
recycled water. If the washing system is not
operated during backwash, then refilling is
done automatically by the emergency fresh
water supply (option).
The WRP is equipped with an on-demand
backflushing function. This backflush is ini-
tiated automatically if filling the recycled
water tank takes more than 15 minutes (30
minutes for 2 tanks, 45 minutes for 3 tanks)
due to a heavily soiled filter.
This automatic filter backflushing can also
be started during a wash in a very busy
washing operation with consequential filter
contamination.
The water demand of the washing system
is ensured via the fresh water supply (op-
tion).
After backflushing, another automatic
backflush is blocked for 90 minutes. With
increased water use of the washing sys-
tem, this will avoid superfluous backflush-
ing.
The filter performance does not decrease
too much during this time, so that a suffi-
cient supply of recycled water is ensured.
Operating the multi-channel valve manu-
ally
You can use the button located on the side
of the control head to manually operate the
automatic backwash valve. The buttons
trigger the following functions:

EIN/ON
The multi-channel valve is
switched on and goes to
Filter position. (Is done au-
tomatically when you
switch on the system using
the ON/OFF switch.)
AUS/OFF
The multiple-channel valve
is switched off. The cur-
rent valve position is re-
tained.

Setting the rinsing times
The backwash and the clear rinse time are
set at two rotary potentiometers in the con-
trol head according to the scaling.
1 Backwash time
2 Clear rinse time
Unscrew the 6 screws on the cover of
the control head of the multi-channel
valve and remove the cover.
Set backwash time to 5 minutes.
Set backwash time to 1 minutes.
Replace the lid of the control head and
tighten all screws.
Start the backwash cycle by pressing
the "TEST BUTTON" button and meas-
ure the rinse time; correct it, if required.
Emptying the pump basin
Turn the rotary button "Empty pump ba-
sin" to "MAN" position to route the recy-
cled water via the WRP 10000/20000
and the recycled water tank from the
pump basin into the canal.
This function is required when the qual-
ity of the recycled water proves insuffi-
cient for operating the awashing system
(too much salt in the water or wrong
cleaning agent, for example).
Function:
Actuate the button once (rotate to MAN
and release it).
The WRP 10000/20000 filters until the
S4.2 switch in the pump basin signals
lack of water and the submersion pump
is switched off.
This overfills the recycled water tank.
The excess water flows though the
overflow pipe of the recycled water tank
into the canal.
The water supply of the washing sys-
tem now runs with fresh water until the
3
-
EN
pump basin is filled up to level S4.1 at
the top, and the deactivation of the sub-
merged pump is cancelled.
Recycled water can then be produced
in the normal way.
KÄRCHER Service deactivates the
"Draining the pump basin" function if
there is no overflow line th the channel.
Conductivity monitoring
Monitoring the recycled water conduc-
tivity automatically is an option of the
WRP 10000/20000.
The measuring point is in the recycled
water tank.
Conductivity monitoring can be activat-
ed (AUTO) or deactivated (OFF) at the
rotary switch "Automatic conductivity
monitoring".
When a value of 3000 μS/cm is exceed-
ed, conductivity monitoring triggers the
same process as the "Empty pump ba-
sin" button.
The subsequent utilization of fresh wa-
ter for the washing process dilutes the
remaining salty water in the basin sys-
tem to an extent that adequate washing
water quality is restored.
This option cannot be installed if the re-
cycling system is not equipped with an
overflow from the recycled water tank
and a fresh water supply.
Recycling water recirculation
If the washing system does not use up the
water, the recycled water is circulated by
means of gravity to avoid foul odour. If a
gravity circulation is not possible (e.g. if the
technical room is below the system), the
circulation pump upgrade kit is required.
Frost protection
The plant must be operated in frost-free
rooms. During frost, put the system out of
operation and remove all traces of water:
Loosen the screws of the plastic pipes
and let the pipes run empty.
Empty the recycled water tank.
Open the gravel filer and remove the
gravel that is still moist (Customer Serv-
ice)
Shutdown
Note
To avoid odour problems, the plant must
remain switched on even during the night.
Switch off the ON/OFF switch.
If there is risk of frosting, then any exist-
ing water traces must be removed (see
section "Anti-freezing").
Restarting
During fresh start-up after shutdown:
Switch on plant.
Backwash the filter until the manometer
on the multi-channel valve displays an
inlet pressure of 0.05 MPa (0.5 bar) dur-
ing filter operation.
