Rice Variations
Savoury Rice
Prepare the rice in the SOLIS Rice Cooker "2 in 1"
as specified, substituting all the water with the same
quantity of chicken, beef, fish, or vegetable stock.
Sweet Rice
Prepare the rice in the SOLIS Rice Cooker "2 in 1"
as specified substituting half the water with apple
juice, orange juice or pineapple juice. Cooking rice
with milk or cream is not recommended as it will
burn onto the bottom of the removable cooking bowl.
Saffron Rice
Add
1
teaspoon of saffron powder or 2 saffron

threads to every 2 cups of water.
Use the white rice cooking tables. Mix well.
Arborio Rice
Arborio rice is short round-grained pearly rice often
used for Italian risotto cooking. Use the brown rice
cooking tables.
Jasmine Rice
Jasmine rice is fragrant long grain rice. Use the
white rice cooking tables.
Basmati Rice
Basmati rice is an aromatic long grain rice. Use the
white rice cooking tables.
Wild Rice
It is not recommended to cook wild rice alone in
the SOLIS Rice Cooker "2 in 1" as it requires a
substantial amount of water. It is possible to cook
wild rice as a blend with white or brown rice.

About rice
Rice is a nutritious, low-fat food consisting of
complex carbohydrates and is rich in vitamins such
as thiamin, niacin and iron. Rice is an essential part
of a healthy diet.
There are numerous different types of rice on the
market. Every sort of rice can be cooked to perfection
in the SOLIS Rice Cooker „2 in 1". What follows is
a list of the varieties of rice generally available and
their particular properties.
Long-grain rice
Starch-free long-grain rice typically has a grainy
consistency, even after cooking. While "California"
rice is soft, "Carolina" rice is rather more fibrous.
Spicy and aromatic "Jasmin" rice, however, is the
most fibrous of all the long-grained rice varieties.
Short-grain rice
This rice has a soft and sticky consistency. It is the
rice of choice for sushi. "Sweet Rice", also known as
"Pearl Rice" (owing to its round shape), is extremely
sticky and ideal for rice pudding.
Brown rice
Brown rice is the healthiest rice available as it is
still coated with bran and is especially rich in the
B vitamin complexes, iron and calcium. It is more
fibrous than polished white rice. The brown rice most
frequently used is a long-grained rice with a sticky
consistency.
Wild rice
Wild rice is available in several different variations
and mixtures. Wild rice is often mixed together with
long-grain rice. It varies in colour between brown and
black and is fibrous in texture. Wild rice can be mixed
with dried fruit, too, and makes a wonderful addition
to soups and cooked poultry.
