In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of
the Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical
Systems and Operating Materials are to be observed.
In schools, training centres, computer and self-help workshops,
handling of measuring devices must be supervised by trained per-
sonnel in a responsible manner.
For safety and licensing (CE) reasons, unauthorised conversion
and/or modifications to the product are not permitted.
Do not expose the device to high temperatures, dampness, strong
vibrations, or excessive mechanical loads.
Do not leave batteries lying around carelessly. They could be swallo-
wed by children or pets. If swallowed, immediately consult a doctor.
Keep batteries out of the reach of children.
Do not throw batteries into the fire. Danger of explosion.
Also observe the safety instructions in each chapter of these opera-
ting instructions.

Detecting alternating voltage-carrying cables (AC-V)
The cable detector can detect voltage-carrying lines in walls. This is
useful for detecting the routing of lines and potential cable breaks in
voltage-carrying conductors.
The signaller does not have to and must not be used for
this detection method.
• Set the mode switch (5) to the centre "ACV" position.
• Turn the sensitivity control to the highest sensitivity (+)
• Move the cable detector along the wall with the
sensor area 1 pointing towards the wall. If the
cable detector indicates a live cable, incre-
mentally reduce the sensitivity and move the
cable detector forward and backward to
detect the exact position of the cable.
• The flashing speed indicates the signal strength;
Slow flashing = weak signal, long distance.
Fast flashing = strong signal, short distance.
• At the end of the test, set the mode switch (5) back to the "OFF"
position.
Cable tracking with signaller
In connection with the signaller the cable detector is a powerful
cable detection system. The signaller emits a pulse signal while the
cable detector operates as a signal receiver.
Before connecting, make sure that all cables are dead
(otherwise there is danger to life!)
• Set the switch on the cable detector to the "Current/Cable/Pipe"
position to activate the "signal tracking" test mode.
