Charge switch
The switch is located under the CD cover. It is used to allow charging of
rechargeable NiMH batteries (not included in the package) if a AC adapter is
connected to the unit. See also Specification; AC adapter is not included in
the package.
– Charge rechargeable batteries in the player: connect the AC adapter, open the
CD cover with the Open button and set the Charge switch to "ON".
Important: If you use an optional AC adapter, do not charge the batteries more
than 24 hours or more than the recommended time. Overcharging may
deteriorate the performance of the rechargeable batteries. Unplug the AC
adapter after charging.
– If an AC adapter is connected and the unit is operated with non-rechargeable
batteries (not included in the package): ensure under any circumstances that
the switch is set to "OFF".

Battery Compartment
The unit operates on two (2) AA size rechargeable NiHM batteries or on two
(2) AA size non-rechargeable batteries (see Specification and section
Important Hints). Open the lid of the battery compartment on the back side of
the player and insert the two batteries (not included in the package) in the
battery compartment following the polarity diagram located inside.
