The length of the connector is to be adjusted in such a way that falling over the edge is not
possible in any event. When hooking onto a horizontal stop device in accordance with EN
795, Class C (e.g. HA 4) the deflection of this stop device should also be considered with the
length adjustment.
On no account should the adjustable connector be pulled over or around sharp edges.
Caution:
When using this retention system, the connector should be made long enough so that
the person to be secured cannot fall. At the same time, consider the deflection of the
flexible anchor line with applied strain as a result of the connector. Before starting
work, the deflection is to be determined from a safe standing position. To do this,
apply a load to the installed flexible anchor line of the retention system in the middle
of the area (in the direction of strain) with approx. 300 N (ca. 30 KG). The deflection
should be measured. In the case of 2 users, the load should be doubled.

2.3 Anchoring aid (e.g. for winding around an object)

When used as an anchoring aid, this adjustable connector is used over a girder or a wooden
beam. The girder or beam used should never have sharp edges, since these could damage
the rope. In this case, additional equipment should be used, such as an edge protector, a
protector tube etc.
The following anchoring methods can be used with this product:

The girder or wooden beam must be able to bear a sufficient load (see the general
instructions for use – anchor point). The loads to be expected and/or the specified loads in
the selected fall arrest systems used must be followed. This adjustable connection aid must
never be knotted, as this significantly reduces the breaking load.
The maximum length of this anchoring aid is 2 m. The length should be adapted to the
respective component (wrapped around tightly).

A test log is enclosed with these directions for use (control chart). Prior to the first
application, this inspection log is to be filled in by the user with the necessary information.
