Function and application

Adjustable connectors for retention belts are used for positioning and stabilizing work.
If, for example, a user has reached his working position for short term repair or servicing on a
lattice mast, a tree, wooden mast (or similar objects), he can obtain and secure a suitable
working position in relation the object using the adjustable connector for retention belts (type
Masi). On no account should this adjustable connector for work positioning retention belts be
used instead of equipment for securing against falls. The length adjustment provides the user
with an opportunity to adjust (to lengthen or shorten) his working position to the object
millimeter by millimeter.
Rope types that are used:
Rope type:
Spun safety rope, diameter 16 mm
Kernmantel rope, diameter 16 mm
The length adjustment device of the connector for retention belts should not be opened. It
consists of a rope shortening device (length adjustment), through which the connector (rope)
is thread (16 mm diameter). On the rope shortening device, there is a lever mechanism
attached (with spring pressure) which acts as a locking brake and automatically presses on
the connector. In the case of strain, it clamps in the direction of movement. As a result of a
pressure lever, when the strain is taken off, the clamp can be lifted.
2. Notes on use
2.1. Mast securing rope (for positioning work)
The user takes the adjustable connector for retention belts (type Masi MA 4 or MA 5-16) and
fastens the supplied mountain climber's hook of the length adjustment device to the lateral
retention eyelet of the retention belt or harness (right or left, as accustomed). When
ascending and descending, the free end of the connector should be hung onto the karabiner
hook (where possible, in a retaining eyelet).
