The intended use of the half-mask respirator:
- Half-mask respirator is a complete respiratory protective equipment,
consisting entirely or partly of filtering material.
- Half-mask respirators are used exclusively for respiratory protection against non-toxic
solid and liquid particles, such as dust, fumes, aerosols, mist.
Conditions for use of the half-mask respirator:
- The national regulations should be observed.
- Read and follow the following instructions for use.
- The user must be familiar with the equipment and its intended use.
- Half-mask respirator cannot be used in rooms with inadequate ventilation
and a small volume (wells, canals, reservoirs etc.)
due to the risk of oxygen deficiency (i.e. less than 17% vol.).
- The concentration and type of environmental threat must be specified.
- Half-mask respirators do not protect against gases and vapours.
- While using the half-mask respirator, breathing resistance increases due
to dust depositing on it. If you discover that the resistance increased
significantly, the respirator must be replaced with a new one.
- Half-mask respirator is designed for use during the period of one shift
(maximum 8 hours) – for NR-labelled masks.
- Half-mask respirator is designed for repeated use (maximum 3 shifts) – for R-labelled masks.
- The selection of appropriate respiratory protection depends on the concentration and type of
hazard present within given environment.
- Half-mask respirator cannot be used by users with facial hair,
which could be obstructing proper seal of the protective to face.
- In case of danger of oxygen deficiency or too high concentrations of dangerous
substances present in the environment, as well as if the working conditions are not known,
the equipment insulating the users from the atmosphere of the environment should be used.
Inspection before use:
- Before using the half-mask respirator, check the product life date and its elements for damage.
- Damaged half-mask respirators and those with exceeded storage time cannot be used.
Putting on:
- Put the half-mask respirator on face as shown in fig. 1–8 in case of flat half-masks,
and fig. 9–16 in case of shaped half-masks.
- Before putting the half-mask on, check the technical condition of the half-mask respirator
and make sure its components are not damaged.
- Shape the nose clip on your index finger (for half-masks with a nose piece),
put the half-mask respirator on face and adjust it to obtain the best seal.
- Put the half-mask respirator so that one headband strap is placed at the top of the head
and the other one on the neck.
- Tighten the nose clip, for half-masks fitted with a nose piece.
- Check if the half-mask respirator is correctly sealed, bring your hands to the bowl and blow
out air. If you feel that it is escaping near the nose clip, correct its shape; otherwise,
correct the attachment of the headband straps.

Storage and Maintenance:
- Half-mask respirator is a disposable piece of equipment and must not be washed or cleaned.
- Half-mask respirators must be stored in sealed, undamaged manufacturer's packaging.
In rooms with relative humidity below 90% and temperature range of -20°C to +40°C.
- If properly stored, the storage time is 36 months.
- Half-mask respirators must be protected from corrosive chemical substances,
moisture and dirt.
Cleaning and disinfection:
The procedure applies only R-labelled half-mask respirators.
Given that the respirators are designed for repeated use, after each use:
- gently remove the half-mask respirator,
- shake off excess dust,
- clean the seal located inside the respirator with soap and water solution,
- additionally, the seal of the half-mask respirator must be disinfected with pure ethanol (spirit),
- place the cleaned and disinfected half-mask respirator in the manufacturer's packaging
(plastic bag). The respirator can be reused, but only by the same user.
Pictograms:
Follow the instructions for use
Temperature of storage range from -20°C to +40°C
Air humidity in the storage room must be below 90%
Expiry date - with adequate storage - see label
