Special safety regulations
Do not use drill as a screwdriver.
Do not use damaged or worn drill bits and always use
the correct type of bit for the job.
Secure small items to be drilled in a vice or similar. Never
hold items to be drilled in your hand!
Check for concealed power cables or the like in the item/
surface to be drilled to avoid hitting them with the drill
bit.
Place a piece of waste timber under the item to be drilled
whenever possible. Ensure the drill bit does not damage
items under or behind the item/surface to be drilled -
e.g. when drilling in a wall.
Always maintain a firm grip on both handles when using
the machine.
The drill must not be in contact with anything when start-
ing it.
Always use ear protectors when using the hammer drill
function.
Drilling certain substances can cause harmful dust. Use
a mask.
The drill must be totally stopped before switching be-
tween drilling and hammer drilling, changing direction or
drill speed.
Never put the drill down if the chuck is still rotating (e.g.
if the lock button is still depressed). Wait until the chuck
has stopped completely before putting the drill down,
and pull the plug out of the socket if it is not to be used
further.
Avoid touching the bit immediately after use as it may
be hot.
Always secure the chuck key in its holder when not in
use.
Preparation and adjustment
Turning the support handle
The support handle (2) can be rotated around the drill chuck
to a position to suit - e.g. vertically under the machine, hori-
zontal out to either side. Loosen the handle by turning it.
Move to desired position and tighten by turning in the oppo-
site direction.
Removing the chuck
Insert the chuck key (6) in one of the three holes on the side
of the chuck (1), turn anti-clockwise to open.
