O VERHEA T P ROT E CTIO N
Should the appliance overheat, e.g. if there is no or too little water in the kettle
or if it has already evaporated, the appliance automatically switches off. In this
case, pull the plug and let the appliance cool down for approx. 15 minutes before
using it again.

GOOD TO KNOW

s
1. Never exceed the MAX marking when filling the kettle as this might cause the
water to splash out of the kettle during boiling and cause scalding resp. electric
shock!
2. Filled to the MAX marking, the kettle holds 1,0 litres of water.
3. Never fill the jug with too little water. The MIN marking (250 ml) has to be
reached every time, otherwise the overheat protection is triggered and the
appliance switches off.
4. Always check if the lid is correctly closed before connecting the power plug to
the socket.
5. Dry the kettle outside as well as the kettle bottom and the appliance base before
plugging in the plug.
6. During heating, you can quit the boiling process at any time by pressing the ON/
OFF toggle switch.
7. Should there be too little water in the kettle or should the water have evaporated,
thereby triggering the overheat protection, pull the plug and let the appliance
cool down for 15 minutes before refilling cold water into the kettle.
8. Do not press the lid latch button during or shortly after use to open the lid. Hot
water might squirt out of the jug. If you want to open the lid, e.g. to refill cold
water, the hot water remaining in the jug should be poured out through the
spout first, with the lid closed.
9. Because steam has to be allowed to escape from the jug during boiling, the spout
is always open. Therefore, water might escape when the full jug is tipped over or
placed on its side. Consequently, the jug filled with water has to be in an upright
position at all times.

CLEANING AND CARE

s
1. Before cleaning, pull the plug and let the electric kettle cool down completely.
2. Never submerge the jug or the appliance base in water or any other liquids and
do not spray water or any other liquids onto the appliance parts. Risk of electric
shock!
3. Clean the outside of the jug, the inside and outside of the lid and the appliance
base with a slightly wet towel and dry the inside of the jug. Do not use any
aggressive cleaning agents or solvents and no scratching materials to clean the
appliance, this might damage the surfaces.
DE SC ALI NG TH E GLAS S JU G
After prolonged use or through the exposure to hard water, limestone deposits
might form in the jug, leading to a white coating, reduced operating efficiency
and taste impairments of the water.
Solis recommends regularly (depending on water hardness, however at least
once a month) descaling your kettle with a mixture of SOLIPOL
Please use only SOLIPOL
forte (art.-no. 703.01) for descaling the appliance.
®
Damages caused by the use of unsuitable descaling agent are not covered by
warranty.
Pour 300 ml of cold water into the water jug and switch the appliance on. Bring
the water to the boil.
Take the water jug off the base, carefully open the lid (Caution, hot steam!)
and pour 700 ml SOLIPOL
forte into the glass jug so that the descaling solu-
®
tion reaches the MAX marking. Please ensure that the water jug is placed on a
non-sensitive resp. shielded worktop.
Let the descaling solution sit for approx. 30 minutes. Do not boil!
Slowly pour the descaling solution out through the spout to descale that area as
well. Remove possibly remaining limestone deposits on the spout or limestone
filter with a towel soaked in a solution of SOLIPOL
After emptying out the descaling solution, you have to fill the kettle with fresh,
cold tap water to the MAX marking, bring it to the boil and pour the water out
again each time to remove all remains of the descaling solution. Do this three
times and under all circumstances.
