ATTENTION!
Before start-up, carefully read all notes in the chapters "Before fi rst use" and
"Start-up"! Detailed notes on how to fi ll the water and milk tank or how to insert
the fi lter holder in the device are provided in the chapter "Start-up"!
Do not leave the device unattended so that you can immediately intervene in the
event of malfunctions (e.g. overfl owing etc.).
Caution: Risk of emitted steam! Never open the water tank cover when the device is
in use! Hot steam or hot splash water may escape.
Before start-up, make sure that the water tank cover is closed and that the milk tank
and the fi lter holder have been correctly inserted.
Never add water to the water tank during the brewing process. You could scald your-
self with the sudden emission of steam.
Never attempt to remove the water or milk tank during the brewing process. Always
switch the device off and pull the mains plug out of the socket if you would like to add
more water or milk!
Never use the device without water in the water tank. The pump could be damaged if
the device is operated without water.
Never use the milk nozzle if there is no milk or water in the milk tank!
Do not overfi ll the water or milk tank. Observe the corresponding MIN and MAX marks.
Use fi nely ground espresso powder. The grind should approximately correspond to
the size of ground grains of salt. Make sure that the espresso is not too fi nely ground
(e.g. like fl our). Otherwise it will plug the fi lter.
Clean the device regularly after use as described in the chapter "Care and storage".
The milk tank should be cleaned EACH time before it is refi lled!
If, after use, there is still milk left over in the milk tank and you would like to use it,
we recommend that you store the milk in the milk tank in the refrigerator until the
next time you need it.
