Netting for the buoyancy protection for containers Monolith and TUBUS
Introduction
These instructions are in addition to the respective assembly instruction of a tank, when
there is a need for special precautions concerning buoyancy protection in high ground water
or stratum water.
The buoyancy protection netting can only be used with a max. ground water or stratum
water level (H gw) of 55 cm under the ground surface. If the water level of the original top
ground surface is higher, additional soil coverage can be backfilled to raise the top ground
surface.
An installation in ground water and coverage conditions not shown in the charts, is not
permitted.
Description/Application area
The netting has a mesh width of 15 mm and is made of the highest strength polyester
strings with a polymer coating. It is installed as an additional protection against buoyancy
within the tank installation and makes the installation of tanks MONOLITH and TUBUS
possible in areas with a high ground water level.
Mounting
The netting delivered is oversized (approx. 450 x 500 cm). It is rectangular and has to be
positioned in a way, that the stronger fibres (long side of the netting) run lengthwise on the
tank. For the entrance opening(s) a narrow dimensioned cut has to be made.
The assembly instructions for the tanks describe filling and compacting in layers, this can be
varied in such a way, that a (if necessary diagonal) seating for the netting is built up (see
drawings). The netting is bedded and the process of filling and compacting in layers has to
be continued according to the assembly instruction.
