ever, it is possible to stop the process anytime earlier by simply pressing the ESPRESSO button (F)
again.
13. After a short cooling time, remove the filter holder (4) (step 9 in reverse order). Flip the handle clip for-
ward and knock the coffee grounds or coffee pod out of the filter. ATTENTION! When knocking out
coffee grounds, be careful not to strike the filter holder hard against sharp edges. This could
damage the filter holder.
14. Thoroughly clean the filter (7-9).
Repeat procedure for another cup of espresso.
Brewing Cappuccino
Steam can be used to make the milk frothy for a cappuccino or for heating liquids. The temperature
required to produce steam being higher than that necessary to make an espresso, the espresso should
always be prepared first, because otherwise the coffee might be burnt.
Therefore, first brew espresso coffee using a larger cup.
Frothing Milk for Cappuccino
1. Pour about 200 ml of skimmed milk into a high narrow container that fits under the steam nozzle (5).
Please note: Milk must be fresh and cold (no older milk!); the container should be cooled, too.

3. Press ESPRESSO (F). Wait until water starts dripping from the boiler outlet (17). The brewing system
is filled. Then press ESPRESSO (F) again to switch off. The ESPRESSO pilot light flashes.
4. When the ESPRESSO pilot light is off, hold the container under the nozzle so that it is fully dipped into
the milk.
5. Slowly open the steam release knob (3) – turn towards MAX – not moving the container. The nozzle
must not touch the bottom of the container.
6. As soon as the milk is frothy (about 10-30s), return the steam release knob (3) to the
