3. Continuous operation
To put the appliance into continuous operation, turn the lower rotary knob to the left to the
manual setting "M". In this case the appliance will not switch off automatically. To cut off you
have to reset the rotary knob to "0" position.
4. Operation with timer
To set the timer, turn the lower rotary knob to the right as far as it will go and then back to the
desired operation time.
After the selected time has elapsed, the clock will switch off the appliance automatically and a
short ring tone is audible. The selected time can be adjusted at any time even during operation
by turning the knob to the left or to the right.
Once the pilot lamp goes out, the selected temperature has been reached. Cycling on and off
during operation, the pilot lamp shows the thermostatic regulation of the temperature.
ATTENTION: This means that the pilot lamp does not glow for some time, although the oven is
switched on. Therefore, mind that all functions have been switched off once the baking
procedure is finished. Safe switch-off is ensured by disconnecting the mains plug.
The model Eltac RG 16 is equipped with an interior illumination which makes it possible for
you to observe your food during operation. The interior illumination turns on automatically with
the activation of the knob for setting the timer.
5. Rotisserie function
•
Slide one fixing bracket on the spit and tighten it with the screw. Now skewer the prepared
chicken onto the spit centrally until it is pushed firmly into the first fixing bracket.
•
Then slide the second fixing bracket on the spit and push it firmly into the chicken. Also
tighten this screw.
•
Check that the chicken is properly centred on the spit.
•
Tightly truss the chicken with a heat-proof cotton string suitable for food to prevent any
meat parts from getting in contact with the heating elements. The food to be roasted should
have at least 2 cm distance to the heating element.
•
By means of the rotisserie handle you may now lift the rotisserie assembly into the oven.
Firstly, insert the spit with the pointed end in the hole on the right hand side of the interior
oven and then place it in the support provided on the left hand side.
•
Now select "upper heat with rotisserie" or "upper and lower heat with rotisserie".
•
Switch on the appliance via the lower rotary knob by opting for the manual setting "M" on
the left or for the timer setting on the right.
•
Make sure that the meat to be grilled is rotating properly and that it has at least 2 cm distance to
the heating elements (IMPORTANT – otherwise the meat might catch fire).
•
Then set the desired temperature by means of the upper rotary knob.
TIPP: For the grilling procedure, we recommend to fill about half of the roasting tray with water
and insert it in the lower guiding to make it act as a drip pan. By this means, dripping fat will be
collected, the appliance will stay clean and your food will become especially tender due to the
ascending steam. Please make sure to set the function switch to "upper heat with rotisserie" in
this case.
6. More tips and notes
Always pre-heat the oven until the desired temperature has been reached before you put in the
food to be cooked and place the food in the middle of the roasting tray.
The best cooking results are achieved if you turn the roasting tray after about half of the
cooking time, so that the food from the rear gets shifted to the front.
Attention! Hazard of burns! Handle hot accessory parts, pots and pans with potholders
only!
